As a long-time fan of Batman, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation as DC Comics announces yet another retelling of the Dark Knight’s origin story in “Detective Comics” #1090. Eighty-five years ago, Bruce Wayne’s tragic backstory first graced the pages of “Detective Comics” #33, and since then, it has been retold, reimagined, and rebooted countless times. Yet, every iteration holds a unique charm and intrigue that keeps us coming back for more.
Eighty-five years ago, I stumbled upon Batman’s origin story in the hallowed pages of Detective Comics #33 from DC Comics. Before countless retellings, revisions, and resets, the captivating tale titled “Legend: The Batman and How He Came to Be,” introduced us for the first time to the legendary figure.
As a longtime comic book fan, I’m thrilled to hear that “Detective Comics” is going back to Batman’s origin story. With over 8 decades and more than a thousand issues under its belt, it’s fascinating to see how the Dark Knight’s tale continues to evolve.
A long time ago, the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne in Crime Alley fundamentally transformed Gotham City. However, there’s a hidden truth about Batman’s tragic origin that has been quietly waiting to resurface since that night. And now, after all these years, this part of Gotham’s history is beginning to come undone.
Based on DC’s announcement, Detective Comics issue 1090 promises to deliver a Batman tale that will significantly shake up the character and bring about significant alterations for the Dark Knight. The story could potentially leave a lasting impact, transforming the course of Batman’s journey in unexpected ways.
The issue in question, which follows the groundbreaking conclusions of “Absolute Power” in “DC All In Special” #1 by Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson, will be released on October 23rd. Meanwhile, a new beginning for “Absolute Batman” by Snyder and Nick Dragotta is set to debut on October 9th, sandwiched between the bi-weekly “Batman” issues on October 2nd and October 16th.
In the latest instalment of Chip Zdarsky’s “Batman” comic book series, we have a new arc titled “The Dying City.” This engrossing storyline, found in issues #153 and #154, brings back the enigmatic Riddler, introduces an intriguing new superhero called Commander Star, and shocks us with the brutal murder of one of Gotham City’s most esteemed residents.
