After the thrilling conclusion of this summer’s “Absolute Power” event in the DC Universe, I, as an avid gamer of DC comics, am excited to embark on a new journey with DC All In. Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson announced this fresh initiative on a weekday, promising an engaging and revamped “Absolute” universe for DC’s iconic characters. Alongside these Absolute titles, we will continue to have the ongoing collection of core comics, introducing new directions and entry points for numerous characters and squads.

“I’ve envisioned the birth of the Universe in Absolute DC as my return to DC, and DC All In will provide an excellent entry point for both newcomers and returning fans. They’ll have the opportunity to delve into fresh tales and witness the exciting new developments unfolding in DC’s primary comic book series.”

As a longtime comic book fan, I’m absolutely thrilled about DC Comics’ latest announcement regarding their new creative teams. Having followed various titles for years, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement knowing that Tom Taylor and Mikel Janín are taking the helm on “Detective Comics.” Their collaboration promises a fresh take on Batman’s detective skills and criminal underworld.

Absolute Batman #1

In the first issue of “Absolute Batman” #1 penned by Snyder and illustrated by Nick Dragotta, we encounter a different take on the Caped Crusader. Unlike his classic counterpart, this Batman doesn’t come with the fortune, mansion, or butler that are usually part of the package. The unique elements of this alternative Batman will be revealed upon its release at comic shops and digital retailers on October 9, 2019.

Absolute Superman #1

In collaboration, Jason Aaron (writer) and Rafa Sandoval (artist), introduce a fresh take on the Man of Steel with the debut of “Absolute Superman” #1. This new Superman is devoid of a family, Fortress of Solitude, or a home base. Can he continue to uphold truth, justice, and a brighter future in this novel universe? Discover the answer when “Absolute Superman” #1 becomes available at comic book retailers on November 6.

Absolute Wonder Woman #1

In the new universe, Diana lacks the typical elements of an island paradise, female camaraderie, or a peacekeeping mission – so what role does an Amazon warrior like Diana serve? Find out as Eisner Award-winning writer Kelly Thompson and rising artist Hayden Sherman reimagine her anew in Absolute Wonder Woman #1, available October 23.

DC All-In Special #1

Beginning in October, as “Absolute Power” (DC Comics issue #4) comes to an end, the All In event from DC kicks off with a shocking, mirror-image comic book. This means that readers will be able to read two connected stories back-to-back, creating a captivating and cohesive reading experience.

After the occurrences in “Absolute Power,” the main heroes of the DC Universe have worked hard to bring unity among people despite the deep-rooted discord. Fortunately, their efforts come just as needed since Darkseid, the infamous ruler of Apokolips, has reemerged! Superman rallies all DC Super Heroes residing on Earth to fortify our defenses and prepare for an impending war. The initial clashes will create seismic effects throughout DC’s primary storylines, potentially altering their fundamental realities.

In the vast expanse of the Absolute Universe, a more ominous danger emerges. As DC’s iconic figures grow up with fewer resources and encounter stronger adversity than ever before, they cling to their unwavering heroism that captivates and amuses fans. Yet, can they truly safeguard the inner light amidst the looming darkness that threatens their universe?

As a huge fan, I’m thrilled to share that the DC All In Special #1 is a collaborative work between Scott Snyder (Absolute Batman) and Joshua Williamson (Superman). This unique flipbook boasts stunning artwork by Daniel Sampere when read one way, and the talented Wes Craig (Deadly Class) graces the pages when flipped over. Spanning an impressive 64 pages, this one-shot comes with a captivating main cover by Sampere, along with variant covers by Rafa Sandoval, Wes Craig, and John Giang.

Action Comics #1070

Another one of DC’s foundational titles goes weekly beginning in October! “Death of the Phantom Zone” spins directly out of Absolute Power and Batman/Superman: World’s Finest, as writer Mark Waid and artist Clayton Henry plunge Superman into the Phantom Zone to prevent an otherworldly horror from laying waste to Metropolis. And in the second story, “Supergirl: Universe End,” Eisner Award winner and Zatanna: Bring Down the House writer Mariko Tamaki and artist Skylar Patridge take Supergirl to the farthest reaches of space in pursuit of a mysterious threat only she can handle.

Batman #153

Chip Zdarsky, Jorge Jimenez, and Carmine Di Giandomenico are returning with an exciting new storyline called “The Dying City.” In this arc, the Riddler takes an unexpected turn, a new superhero named Commander Star emerges, and one of Gotham City’s most esteemed citizens meets a tragic end. Keep an eye out for Batman’s adventures in October on the 2nd and 16th, with two issues released every month.

This upcoming storyline promises significant shifts for the Dark Knight, potentially altering his world forever.

Green Arrow #350

As a huge fan, I’m thrilled to share that this special anniversary issue is a must-read as Joshua Williamson brings an end to his remarkable run on DC’s Green Arrow. In the aftermath of his actions in “Absolute Power,” Oliver Queen has made unimaginable sacrifices to protect those he loves. But the consequences of his choices may have gone too deep, leaving his family and friends struggling to forgive him. In this new story arc, I get to team up with artist extraordinaire Dan Mora under the guidance of Joshua Williamson. The stakes are high as Superman faces off against one of his deadliest adversaries, and things get even more complicated when Doomsday makes a reappearance.
