View Urgent ForecastFollowing an earlier announcement this year and hints dropped over the past week, Behaviour Interactive has finally unveiled the details of the upcoming chapter for “Dead by Daylight”. As anticipated by players, the main character of the DLC will be Dracula, appearing as a new, versatile Killer who can assume various forms to enrich his hunting experiences and leverage the lore surrounding Dracula. In the “Castlevania” DLC, Trevor Belmont, hailing from the famed Belmont family of vampire hunters, serves as the Survivor character. Although a new map won’t be included in the “Castlevania” DLC, players can still anticipate unique elements related to Dracula’s Castle that will be integrated into certain maps.
In the spotlight of the DLC, Dracula will have the unique ability to assume various shapes when selected as the antagonist. As hinted in recent excerpts from a book outlining Dracula’s abilities, he can metamorphose into a bat and a wolf, in addition to his traditional vampire form, each of which is depicted below. In his vampire state, he possesses the power to torch Survivors with fire. Transformed into a bat, he moves stealthily and has a blink ability, while his wolf form enhances his capability to track and pursue Survivors.
In the Survivor group, Trevor Belmont now stands alongside figures such as Jill Valentine, Alan Wake, Nicolas Cage, and numerous others who have been incorporated into the game progressively. Trevor initially made his appearance in “Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse,” and he is one of several distinct Belmont characters that gamers have encountered throughout the Castlevania series over time. Here’s a glimpse of Trevor as portrayed in “Dead by Daylight”:
“The creative director of Daylight, Dave Richard, shared that they aimed to make it effortless for players to switch between Dracula’s various forms within the game. He reminisced about his experience playing Symphony of the Night, one of his favorite games, where possessing such vampiric abilities was awe-inspiring. For him, developing Dead by Daylight and letting players embody The Dark Lord was an enticing and exclusive opportunity.”
Even though there isn’t a fresh map for Dracula and Trevor to traverse, Behaviour Interactive has included a feature related to Dracula’s Castle. When you select Dracula as your character and play an original map (not one obtained through any DLC), the ominous silhouette of Dracula’s Castle will be visible in the backdrop for players to see.
Starting from today, you’ll find the DLC for “Dead by Daylight” featuring “Castlevania” characters in the testing phase. The full release is scheduled for August 27th.
