Dead by Daylight Reveals Tokyo Ghoul DLC

A fresh Killer character has been unveiled for the game “Dead by Daylight“. The new addition is known as The Ghoul, inspired by the popular anime and manga series “Tokyo Ghoul”. This revelation took many “Dead by Daylight” enthusiasts by surprise, whether they are fans of “Tokyo Ghoul” or not. Nonetheless, it appears that this collaboration fits well within the game’s horror genre, demonstrating Behaviour Interactive’s knack for incorporating diverse horror sources to enrich their Killers. Preliminary art for The Ghoul in “Dead by Daylight” closely follows Ken Kaneki’s anime design, featuring his distinctive white hair and single ominous red eye.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Behaviour Interactive has unveiled patch notes revealing the mechanics of The Ghoul in our beloved game. We catch a sneak peek into his Killer Perks and unique abilities. The Ghoul’s insatiable hunger for flesh promises to zero in on Survivors, and he’ll have some intriguing skills to aid in the chase. For comprehensive details, you can check out the full patch notes from the game’s official subreddit below.

NEW KILLER – THE GHOUL

KILLER POWER – ONE-EYED TERROR

SPECIAL ABILITY: Kagune Leap

  • Use theĀ Power buttonĀ to charge and launch theĀ Kagune, tentacles that attach to any vertical surface within range and quickly pull The Ghoul forward.
  • After completing aĀ leap, The Ghoul has a window to perform a second consecutiveĀ Kagune LeapĀ or putĀ Kagune LeapĀ into cooldown by using theĀ active ability button.
  • Kagune LeapĀ enters cooldown once The Ghoul has consumed theirĀ leaps, if theyĀ leapĀ over a vault or downed pallet, or if theĀ KaguneĀ grabs andĀ leapsĀ at aĀ Survivor.
  • If The Ghoul’s second consecutiveĀ leapĀ targets aĀ Survivor, they will perform a grab-attack. Grab-attacks damageĀ SurvivorsĀ if they are healthy; inflictĀ Deep Wounds; and leave aĀ Kagune Mark.
  • Performing a grab-attack also triggersĀ Enraged Mode.

SPECIAL ABILITY: Enraged ModeĀ

  • WhileĀ Enraged, The Ghoul can perform up to three consecutiveĀ Kagune LeapsĀ and canĀ leapĀ overĀ vaultsĀ more quickly if they launch theirĀ KaguneĀ at aĀ Survivor.
  • Enraged ModeĀ remains active while there areĀ SurvivorsĀ afflicted withĀ Kagune Mark. MarkedĀ SurvivorsĀ will lose their mark if they are fullyĀ Mended, or if they are downed.
  • The Ghoul cannot grab-attack markedĀ Survivors.
  • Once no markedĀ SurvivorsĀ remain, aĀ CountdownĀ begins. When theĀ CountdownĀ depletes,Ā Enraged ModeĀ ends. A perfectly timed grab-attack will add extra time to theĀ Countdown. TheĀ CountdownĀ is paused while carryingĀ Survivors.

NEWĀ KILLERĀ PERKS

  • Hex: Nothing But Misery:
    • The effects last until theĀ hex totemĀ is cleansed.
      • When you damage aĀ SurvivorĀ with aĀ basic attack, they gainĀ 5/5/5%Ā HinderedĀ forĀ 10/12.5/15 seconds.
  • Forever Entwined:
    • For each token, you pick up, drop and hookĀ SurvivorsĀ 4%Ā faster.
  • None Are Free:
    • When allĀ generatorsĀ are completed, for each token, all windows and upright pallets are blocked for everyone forĀ 12/14/16 seconds.

In a week’s time, The Ghoul is set to join the game, following the news that The Cenobite and all Hellraiser content will be departing from Dead by Daylight. While one partnership appears to be ending, another is starting. One of the exciting aspects of games like Dead by Daylight lies in its ability to introduce newcomers to horror genres they might not have explored previously. This upcoming collaboration could encourage some players to discover Tokyo Ghoul for the first time and delve into the series’ unique horror elements.
