Starting today, Dead by Daylight’s popular 2v8 mode has been reintroduced by Behaviour Interactive with a twist: Ghost Face and The Oni are now playable characters within this event, which continues until May 29th. During this period, you can access these two killers at no extra cost, along with Survivors Gabriel Soma and Yun-Jin Lee. Moreover, the selection of maps has been increased for this mode, offering players more opportunities to encounter Shelter Woods, Torment Creek, and Wretched Shop. These maps are expected to appear more frequently in the game.

View Urgent ForecastIn the game Dead by Daylight, they’ve introduced a fresh item, the Fog Crystal, specifically for the 2v8 mode. This item will pop up during the event and works much like the Void Crystal from past Halloween events. During a pursuit, using the Fog Crystal can generate a lot of smoke to confuse a Killer (or Killers) on your tracks. For this fresh event, the in-game shop is getting a makeover with new styles for Killers and Survivors. Among these, there’s a raven-inspired appearance for Ghost Face named The Nevermore. You can check out this design in the video below.
In the game “Dead by Daylight”, the characters Ghost Face and The Oni bring an exciting dynamic to 2v8 mode due to their contrasting styles. Ghost Face, true to his appearance in the Scream series, is a sly and silent assailant, while The Oni, as depicted, is massive, boisterous, and aggressive. Interestingly, fans have suggested allowing two players to control Ghost Face in 2v8 matches, given the multiple Killers often seen in the Scream movies. However, this feature isn’t accessible at present.
In celebration of Ghost Face appearing in the 2v8 gameplay, participants of this event will receive some complimentary Ghost Face-themed prizes. These include a Badge, Banner, and Charm showcasing the legendary slasher. However, some players are encountering problems with the quests not functioning correctly at present. In addition to this, numerous players have been complaining about extended wait times in queues. The extent of these difficulties is unclear, but it remains to be seen if they’ll be addressed swiftly so that “Dead by Daylight” enthusiasts can fully enjoy the 2v8 mode during its limited run.
In Dead by Daylight, while many enthusiasts appreciate 2v8, others express concerns about its introduction and the Killers that Behaviour Interactive has included. Some are thrilled about Ghost Face joining the fray, but others are less enthused. There’s also a segment of players who want certain Killers, such as Legion, to be taken out of the mode completely. It’s challenging to please everyone in a game like Dead by Daylight, but let’s hope most players have a good time over the next fortnight!
