Dead Island 2: Neighborhood Watch – New Classes, Abilities, and Gameplay Revealed

As a seasoned gamer with a plethora of zombie-slaying adventures under my belt, I must say that the latest reveal for Dead Island 2: Neighborhood Watch has piqued my interest significantly. The co-op focused mode, set in the vibrant and chaotic HELL-A, presents an intriguing twist to the usual apocalypse survival formula.

Following the unveiling of a teamwork-oriented mode titled Neighborhood Watch for Dead Island 2, Dambuster Studios has shared the initial gameplay footage. In this mode, players engage hordes of zombies in HELL-A, all while trying to protect their fraternity house as part of the Bobcats. You can watch it here.

In contrast to the original game, this version allows players four days to ready themselves for an enormous horde that appears on the fifth day. During each of these days, they collect supplies from nearby areas, complete tasks, and receive potent rewards such as new skills, traps, defense systems for shelters, and uncommon weapons. However, you can select just one reward per day.

In this game, every Bobcat character is distinct with varying attributes, skills, and special abilities. For instance, The Chemist specializes in setting up corrosive snares and creating explosive mixtures using a grenade launcher; The Medic focuses on establishing healing stations; and The Hunter carries a crossbow, throwing knives, firecrackers, and meatstick traps. However, keep in mind that these characters are ordinary individuals, so they won’t have access to Fury Mode for your assistance.

On the fifth day, you’ll be thrust into an intense fight for survival against hordes of zombies in Dead Island 2. The latest update, titled “Neighborhood Watch,” will be available for free on October 22nd for players on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. This update also introduces New Game Plus, which offers new abilities, tougher enemies, a higher level cap, and additional content to explore.
