As a seasoned gamer with decades of zombie-slaying escapades under my belt, I can confidently say that Dead Island 2 has been a breath of fresh air in the genre. After years of anticipation and delays, it’s been a pleasure to finally dive into its vibrant, chaotic world filled with undead hordes.
The popularity of Dead Island 2 remains high as ever. After years of development, it was finally launched last year, much to the delight of many gamers. Not only did it surpass expectations, but its positive reputation has been spreading rapidly among players, resulting in a steady influx of newcomers.
In actuality, Deep Silver has declared in a press release that Dead Island 2 has now exceeded 10 million players on all platforms, reaching this significant milestone on the very same day when Dead Island 2: Ultimate Edition was released.
In May of this year, it was revealed that the game had surpassed 3 million in sales units since its debut. However, Deep Silver hasn’t released any new figures regarding sales as of yet. It’s likely that the game being offered on Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus has boosted its player base, but this may not necessarily mean an increase in actual sales.
You can play Dead Island 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and personal computers. Take a look at our review for more insights about the game. Additionally, it’s worth noting that PS5 Pro enhancements are set to be introduced in the future.
