The introduction of New Game Plus is like a dream come true for those who’ve completed the game and yearn for more. An additional skill slot, increased level cap, new skills, weapons, enemies, and difficulty? Sign me up!
Earlier this year, the developers of Dead Island 2, Dambuster Studios, announced they had major updates in store for the zombie-filled action RPG. Now, they’ve shared more details about what these updates will involve. On October 22nd, they plan to release Patch 6 as a free update for the game, introducing several new features.
One significant feature we’re introducing is the “New Game Plus” mode, a request from players over time. This allows players to commence a fresh game while retaining their progress from a previously completed one. The New Game Plus not only offers an extra skill slot and raises the level cap but also introduces entirely new skills, weapons, and even more formidable enemies. Moreover, it ramps up the overall difficulty for a more challenging experience.
Furthermore, Neighborhood Watch introduces a fresh cooperative horde mode where players take on roles as the Bobcats to safeguard their fraternity house from waves of encroaching zombies. This mode incorporates novel mechanisms, firearms, and cosmetic items, along with an entirely unique setting.
“Work alongside your group in taking on tasks, laying traps, and amassing a deadly cache of weapons,” Dambuster explains about the mode. “Prepare yourselves for the fifth and concluding day, as the zombie assault intensifies. If your defenses and teamwork are solid, you could live to recount the story. Moreover, you’ll consistently gain new skills that will make each gameplay session more intense and thrilling than the previous one.”
