As a die-hard Dead Rising fan who’s seen more zombies than I care to remember, this news has me doing the ‘Chuck Greene’ zombie-slashing dance! The revival of our beloved franchise with the Deluxe Remaster was a welcome surprise, and now there’s a glimmer of hope for a remake of Dead Rising 2.
As a devoted Dead Rising fan, I can’t contain my excitement! After what felt like an eternity, Capcom’s zombie-slaying series has made a comeback with the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and it seems that the future of this franchise is looking brighter than ever. The positive critical response it’s garnered so far suggests that we might be seeing more of our favorite zombie-infested worlds in the future, possibly even remakes of earlier games. Intriguingly, Capcom itself appears to be contemplating such a possibility!
During a conversation with Inverse, producer Kei Morimoto hinted at the possibility of remastering or remaking Dead Rising 2. He mentioned that Capcom is monitoring the sales of the recently launched Deluxe Remaster, and if a suitable chance arises, they might entertain the idea of revisiting the second installment in the series.
Morimoto stated, “It’s plausible that we could rework or enhance Dead Rising 2 in the future.” He continued, “At present, we are keeping an eye on market conditions and the success of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. If a suitable moment arises where we believe we can profitably release a remake or enhanced version of Dead Rising 2, then the possibility of such a project being undertaken increases.
