Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Reveals New Gameplay Footage and Physical Release Plans

As a seasoned gamer with decades of zombie-slaying experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia mixed with anticipation as Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster draws nearer. Frank West and his apocalyptic adventures have been a staple in my gaming diet since the original release back in 2006.

Approximately a month before its release, Capcom is disclosing more details about the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Today, they released an extended video featuring director Ryosuke Mura and producer Kei Morimoto. In this video, Mura demonstrates the upcoming game to give viewers an understanding of the changes from the 2006 original. The video offers a sneak peek at the enhanced graphics, particularly the facial expressions. Mura mentions in the video that all facial motion capture has been re-recorded for this remaster, and the results appear very impressive!

The new Director’s Report video can be found below.

In this updated version of the game, you’ll notice several improvements to the player experience. Previously silent dialogues in certain sections have been given voiceovers, making those scenes more immersive. Furthermore, there’s an array of new voice acting that wasn’t present in the initial release, and you can now select from nine different voiced languages. The developers have also given the mall a facelift, giving it a refreshing beachfront atmosphere. You’ll notice palm trees and jellyfish decorations adorning the ceilings.

A key difference in the updated version of Dead Rising is that players will now have visibility into their weapon’s durability. Earlier versions would let weapons break unexpectedly while Frank was using them. However, with this update, players can monitor how close their weapon is to breaking, making it easier to decide when to switch to a new one. In addition, there’s an option to modify the background music, which could help prevent copyright issues when streaming on platforms like Twitch. This is a trend that developers are increasingly considering, and it should be good news for those planning to stream the game.

Earlier this month, Capcom announced that they plan to continue releasing physical games, including the remastered version of “Dead Rising Deluxe”. Although the digital edition is coming out on September 19th, people who prefer buying physical copies will need to wait until November 8th. The game will be available for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in a physical format.
