As an old-timer in the gaming world, I must say, it’s refreshing to see Valve back in the fray with their latest announcement – Deadlock. The rumors have been swirling like a tornado in a cornfield, and finally, the cat’s out of the bag!
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s not common to see new game announcements from Valve, but they have recently revealed their upcoming major release. The game, titled Deadlock, is a 6v6 third-person hero shooter that has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks. Although it hadn’t been officially confirmed, it had been widely played during ongoing tests, making it something of an unofficial secret.
Currently, Valve has unveiled their new shooter game, as evidenced by the live Steam page. According to this page, access to Deadlock is limited to those who have been invited by its current playtesters. Interestingly, despite this restriction, it appears that a significant number of players are still flocking to the game. At present, as indicated by SteamDB, there are over 45,000 concurrent players, with a peak of over 89,000 earlier in the day.
It’s important to note that Deadlock, as mentioned on its Steam page by Valve, is still in an early stage of development. The game currently features a lot of temporary art and experimental gameplay, so expect changes in the upcoming weeks and months for this shooter.
Instead, let me tell you about Concord, another new hero shooter game that hasn’t had a smooth debut. You can find out more about its rocky start by clicking here.
