Deadpool & Wolverine Breaks Box Office Record Held by Joker

As a seasoned gamer and Marvel fan with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the release of Deadpool & Wolverine has sent shockwaves through the cinematic universe. It’s like watching a real-life crossover event unfold on the big screen! The box office numbers are staggering, and it’s clear that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have once again delivered an action-packed, humor-filled adventure that fans can’t get enough of.

Over the weekend, I was thrilled to catch the latest Marvel Studios installment, “Deadpool & Wolverine” in theaters. This action-packed threequel is currently ruling the box office charts, setting new records and outshining any movie since “Spider-Man: No Way Home” hit screens in 2021. In fact, its opening weekend earnings of $483.3 million worldwide rank among the top ten highest opening weekends ever!

Based on Deadline’s report, the duo of Deadpool and Wolverine has broken the record for highest Tuesday gross for R-rated films, earning an additional $24 million domestically. This surpassed Joker’s previous Tuesday record of $13.9 million. As for all movies released in July, Deadpool and Wolverine now hold the 6th best Tuesday opening, following Spider-Man: Far from Home ($39.2 million), The Amazing Spider-Man ($35 million), The Lion King (2019) ($30.3 million), Transformers ($27.8 million), and Barbie ($26 million). Across all Tuesdays, Deadpool and Wolverine currently rank 15th.

Right now, Deadpool and Wolverine’s upcoming film is projected to earn the most money in 2024, yet it needs to surpass the $1.5 billion that Inside Out 2 has made so far to become the highest-earning movie of all time.
