Deadpool & Wolverine: Bruce Campbell Reveals Why Pizza Poppa Didn't Appear

As a lifelong Marvel fan who has witnessed the evolution of these iconic characters since their humble beginnings, I must say that the latest cinematic collaboration between Deadpool and Wolverine was an absolute triumph. However, it’s disappointing to learn that Bruce Campbell‘s Pizza Poppa didn’t make an appearance in this multiversal adventure.

Nearly a month ago, Deadpool and Wolverine graced the big screen, taking Marvel enthusiasts on an exhilarating tour through the Marvel multiverse. However, one character who didn’t join their universe-jumping escapade was Pizza Poppa, who was seen in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, portrayed by Bruce Campbell. In a chat with ComicBook at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, promoting his upcoming series Hysteria!, Campbell candidly explained why Pizza Poppa didn’t show up in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Campbell shared that he’s not in the same timeline as him; instead, he’s in another one. He then jokingly suggested to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, “You two should share a place. I mean, your friendship is quite obvious. We appreciate it. Now move along. Back to your football team, Ryan.”

Will Deadpool and Wolverine Return in the MCU?

With their multiverse-spanning adventures and blockbuster box office performances, it’s only natural that fans have speculated whether Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will revisit their iconic roles in the future. Before the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, they were cautious about discussing potential future appearances, as revealed in an interview with Variety.

“I don’t know,” Reynolds answered. “Yeah, we’ll see. Yeah.”

Jackman stated, “It appears to be the initial significant interview during this press tour. I’m a bit uncertain about my response.”
