Deadpool & Wolverine Confirms Wild Detail About Cassandra Nova That You Didn't Notice

As a die-hard Marvel fan with decades of comics under my belt and countless hours spent in theaters watching every superhero flick that graced our screens, I must say that the recent revelations about Deadpool & Wolverine have me absolutely thrilled! The attention to detail in this movie is nothing short of astounding.

In the popular movies “Deadpool & Wolverine,” it has been confirmed that the actress portraying Cassandra Nova, Emma Corrin, accurately depicted a commonly assumed detail about the character. Cassandra Nova, who is the telepathic twin sister of Charles Xavier, was played by Corrin in the films. Her appearance mirrored her comic book counterpart, notably with her bald head. During the course of using her powers against Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Cassandra Nova displayed distinctive hand movements. It has now been revealed that Cassandra’s hands were specifically enhanced for the films to make them more noticeable.

Bill Corso, the makeup artist responsible for Deadpool and Wolverine, has revealed some behind-the-scenes details about transforming Cassandra Nova in the Marvel Studios movie. To give a unique touch to Sophia’s character, Corso chose to elongate her fingers slightly. In the provided images, you can see a close-up of two of Sophia’s fingers – one with the prosthetic extension, and one without. Another image showcases one of Sophia’s hands adorned with added nail beds on each finger.

Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting Cassandra Nova, brilliantly portrayed by Emma Louisecorrin! When Emma was chosen for the role, I initially had a design concept closer to Cassandra’s comic version, but with her remarkable appearance, it was decided not to alter it much. Instead, we added the bald head. To make it unique, I wanted to incorporate something distinctive, and I found that Cassandra’s hand movements were quite extensive, so I thought extending her fingers could be intriguing. However, when I extended them, they looked ordinary, so I decided to elongate her nail bed to accentuate the oddity and length. I provided a test finger sculpture to CCE_inc and lead sculptor Rcstir for multiplication. They did an exceptional job along with Emma, whose makeup in these shots was done by myself and Rob Crafer. The daily makeup application was beautifully executed by Monica Huppert, Geoffred Knap, and Robb, who took my setup and improved upon it. My motto is always to hire up!

Deadpool & Wolverine director confirms an Easter egg

In a fascinating revelation, director Shawn Levy has confirmed a subtle Easter egg that many viewers might have overlooked during the box office reign of Deadpool & Wolverine. A keen-eyed Marvel fan spotted a fleeting tribute to Hugh Jackman’s past roles when they noticed the Adamantium skull in the film’s opening sequence bearing the serial number “24601”. This number is significant as it was Jean Valjean’s prisoner number in the 2012 film adaptation of the classic musical, Les Misérables, where Jackman played the lead character.

In a recent statement, Levy affirmed that the “Les Miserables” reference, known as an Easter egg, is indeed intentional. He shared this on X, previously known as Twitter, stating, “We’ve been curious, who would be the first to spot it!” This marks the second time the Deadpool franchise has alluded to 24601, as it was also seen in the hand-drawn map by Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) in Deadpool 2.
