As a dedicated gamer and avid follower of the entertainment industry, I’ve seen my fair share of exciting projects in development, but Shawn Levy‘s upcoming “Star Wars” film has me on the edge of my seat. The man behind Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” Marvel’s “Free Guy,” and the much-anticipated “Deadpool & Wolverine” is no stranger to delivering compelling stories that captivate audiences.
Shawn Levy moves from one confidential project to another. He’s been cautious about discussing his Marvel Studios film, titled “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which has largely kept its marketing under wraps and revealed only the first half hour of spoilers. Now, Levy, the productive director known for “Stranger Things” and “Free Guy,” is deflecting questions regarding his upcoming “Star Wars” project at Lucasfilm. In a new interview for his MCU film (releasing July 26th), Levy confirmed that he will be teaming up with writer Jonathan Tropper once again on this secret “Star Wars” production.
“Levy expressed his relief to On Demand Entertainment during a London event, revealing that Jonathan Tropper is penning his upcoming ‘Star Wars’ project for him. The duo worked together on ‘The Adam Project,’ and they have an enticing concept that has gained the support of Kathy Kennedy and Dave Filoni from Lucasfilm. Although development progress isn’t guaranteed, Levy hopes it will come to fruition.”
As a huge fan of both “Stranger Things” and Marvel, I’ve learned the importance of keeping quiet about upcoming projects. So when pressed for a hint about Levy’s latest venture, I sadly can’t oblige – my training has me sworn to secrecy.
I’ve had the pleasure of contributing to a few projects in the world of streaming entertainment. Alongside “The Adam Project” on Netflix, where I got to work with Reynolds as a time-traveling fighter pilot, I penned down the script for “This Is Where I Leave You,” a drama directed by Levy. Additionally, I wrote the screenplay for the 2017 Netflix film “Kodachrome,” which was produced by Levy. Lastly, I created the martial arts series “Warrior” for Cinemax.
As a dedicated gamer and avid Star Wars fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about upcoming projects from Lucasfilm at Disney. Among the many films in development, Levy’s untitled Star Wars feature is one that particularly piques my interest. But there’s more!
In the upcoming Marvel Studios film “Deadpool and Wolverine,” produced by Kevin Feige, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman take on the leading roles. Joining them are an impressive cast including Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Rob Delaney, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapi?i?, Matthew Macfadyen, and Emma Corrin. Catch this exciting movie in theaters starting July 26th.
