Deadpool & Wolverine: Henry Cavill Concept Art Reveals Alternate Versions of The Cavillerine

As a seasoned gamer and Marvel enthusiast with a lifetime of comic book adventures under my belt, I must say that the latest revelations about Deadpool & Wolverine are nothing short of exhilarating! The prospect of Henry Cavill‘s Cavillerine donning buffalo check flannel has me both amused and eager to see how this twist unfolds.

Ever since the jaw-dropping success of “Deadpool & Wolverine” at the box office, it feels like I’ve been living, breathing, and talking about this epic film! Now, Marvel Studios has graciously given the team behind this masterpiece a chance to reveal some behind-the-scenes goodness. This has led to an avalanche of concept art from Marvel’s vast visual development department, and let me tell you, fellow gamers, it’s been nothing short of exhilarating!

On Tuesday, visual development artist Wes Burt unveiled some costume concepts for the Wolverine variant portrayed by Henry Cavill, who starred in “Man of Steel”. In the movie, Cavill wears Logan’s traditional tank top outfit, but the concept sketches offer various twists – one of which is a buffalo check flannel design.

As someone who has spent countless hours poring over comic books and sketching characters, I found it absolutely thrilling to have the chance to conceptualize designs for the upcoming artbook featuring Deadpool and Wolverine. With my extensive background in illustration and character development, I was eager to bring these iconic heroes to life on the page, and this project offered a unique opportunity to do so. The excitement of working with such well-known characters combined with the creative freedom allowed for the project made it an unforgettable experience that I am looking forward to sharing with fellow fans of the Marvel Universe.

As a long-time fan of action movies and superhero films, I am thrilled to share my excitement about the upcoming collaboration between Shawn Levy and Henry Cavill. Having followed Cavill’s career since his breakout role as Superman, it is fascinating to see him take on new roles that showcase his versatility as an actor. It is impressive to know that he was one of the quickest to agree to appear in the project, reflecting his dedication and enthusiasm for the role. I can’t wait to see what this dynamic duo brings to the big screen!

In the movie, almost all unexpected castings were made through Ryan or myself directly contacting the actors before any legal or agent negotiations took place. As Levy explained in an interview with Variety, “It was us asking and people saying ‘yes,'” he said. The moment Ryan suggested the term Cavillerine, I knew it was a certainty. He agreed immediately, understanding its subversive and playful nature. It was also a nod to him and his work, as well as a way to honor his legacy as a DC hero now that he’s portraying a variant of a Marvel character.
