Deadpool & Wolverine Recreates an Iconic Marvel Comics Moment

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast, I must say that the latest blockbuster hit, Deadpool & Wolverine, has truly outdone itself at the box office this weekend. Marvel Studios has once again proven their dominance in the Hollywood scene, leaving us eagerly anticipating the upcoming San Diego Comic Con.

As a long-time comic book fan and moviegoer, I can’t help but feel exhilarated by the success of “Deadpool & Wolverine” at the box office this past weekend. The thrill of seeing two iconic Marvel characters come to life on the big screen was truly a sight to behold.

As a long-time comic book enthusiast with a particular fondness for Marvel universes and Todd McFarlane’s artwork, I can’t help but get excited when I hear about something new involving these elements.

Spoilers below the break!

In the film, Deadpool goes on a quest through the multiverse to find a version of Wolverine to join his world. Along the way, he encounters several Logans, one wearing the yellow and brown costume from the 1980s. Referencing renowned X-Men and Superman artist John Byrne, Deadpool quips, “You battled the Hulk while wearing this getup!” Before Logan responds with a snap of his claws, revealing a nod to the iconic cover art of The Incredible Hulk #340 by Todd McFarlane and Bob Wiacek.

The primary distinction lies in the color of the reflection in Wolverine’s claws – green instead of grey, for the Hulk. It appears we have reached the limit of comic book authenticity that Disney finds acceptable on the big screen before deeming it too far from the established model.

Just as you’d anticipate, the scene continues with Deadpool getting knocked out of view by the Hulk, followed promptly by a swift transition to another universe.

As a passionate gamer and avid Marvel fan, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be part of an incredible journey in “Deadpool & Wolverine” from Marvel Studios.
