How Did We Get The Deadpool Corps?
Fans of Deadpool and Wolverine have been delighted by discovering various versions in the intense Deadpool Corps battle towards the end of the movie. Recently, director Shawn Levy shared insights about this sequence on The Official Marvel Podcast, revealing its origins and how it was brought to life on screen. Upon learning about the Deadpool Corps, the filmmaker recognized an opportunity to create a unique experience for long-term Deadpool fans.
“Initially, while working with Ryan on the film, I delved into at least a hundred comic issues. Admittedly, I wasn’t fully fluent in the Deadpool Corps, though I was submerged in comics, thanks to Marvel. As soon as I encountered the Corps, a lightbulb went off – ‘What if we could incorporate all these different Deadpool characters into the movie for an unexpected twist in the third act?’ And that’s exactly what we did, drawing inspiration directly from the comics.”
