Deadpool & Wolverine: Ryan Reynolds Thanks Rob Delaney, aka PeterPool, in Touching Post

As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast with a soft spot for superhero films, I found myself deeply moved by Ryan Reynolds‘ heartfelt tribute to his co-star, Rob Delaney. The poignant story of Henry Delaney, Rob’s beloved son who passed away far too soon, was beautifully woven into the fabric of their latest collaboration, “Deadpool & Wolverine.”

Since the summer blockbuster hit of Deadpool & Wolverine, star and producer Ryan Reynolds has been expressing his thoughts about his fellow actors on social media. Yesterday, it was Rob Delaney’s moment to shine, and Reynolds posted one of the most heartfelt co-star messages yet. He praised Delaney’s wit and vulnerability, as well as how a personal tragedy in Delaney’s life affected him deeply.

A while back, Delaney tragically lost his 2-year-old child. Recently, the late Henry Delaney was paid tribute during the closing credits of the movie Deadpool & Wolverine. In a subsequent post, Reynolds shared some thoughts on why they chose to honor Henry in this way.

In this post, Reynolds expressed that Rob Delaney, formerly known as Sugarbear, won our affection and effortlessly redefined the contemporary moose-knuckle, demonstrating its chic potential. If the theories are accurate, he might be the new Anchor Being. The post also reveals that there’s more to Rob Delaney than meets the eye. He is one of the most subtly humorous individuals I know. He is a talented, sharp, and sensitive writer. If you watched the credits of Deadpool & Wolverine, you might have noticed a credit saying, ‘For Henry Delaney.’ Henry was Rob’s son, who tragically passed away from a brain tumor in 2018 while we were completing Deadpool 2.

Reynolds admitted that he had been self-critical for not including a tribute to Henry during the end credits of DP2. However, he pointed out a silver lining: more people are now seeing Henry’s name in the credits. Lastly, he expressed his joy that both him and his father were finally appearing together on screen.

Rob Delaney introduced PeterPool (formerly Sugarbear) in a way that captured our hearts and seamlessly revamped the contemporary image of the moose-knuckle, proving its stylish potential. If speculations hold true, he could be the next Anchor Being.

Reynolds concluded his article on Delaney with a reference to the book the actor penned following Henry’s demise, entitled “A Functioning Heart”.

Rob offers a strikingly realistic viewpoint on profound sorrow, and his book “ A Heart That Works ” provides an uncensored, enraged, loving, mournful, yet side-splittingly funny examination of grief. This literary work delves into the vibrant spectrum of emotions that Henry’s passing unveiled. I consider myself fortunate to know Rob, and equally fortunate to have friends who dare to expose themselves to help others feel less isolated.

According to Reynolds’ post, Deadpool & Wolverine marked Delaney’s second collaboration with him within the series. This time, Peter appeared in Deadpool 2 as part of the X-Force team, and has now transitioned into the character known as PeterPool.
