As a die-hard gamer, I’m super pumped about the fresh concept art that just dropped for Deadpool & Wolverine! This sneak peek promises an epic showdown between the wise-cracking Deadpool and the indomitable Wolverine. The on-screen reunion of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman was highly anticipated, marking Marvel Studios’ daring step into the R-rated realm. With Deadpool & Wolverine being the sole Marvel flick to hit theaters this year, it didn’t fail to impress at the box office, smashing several records along the way. The anticipation continues to build as each news update delivers more tasty tidbits for fans like me. The latest scoop comes straight from one of the brilliant minds behind the camera!

Andy Park, Marvel Studios’ Visual Development Director, recently posted high-quality concept art of Deadpool and Wolverine on social media, depicting a fierce battle between Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. In an Instagram post, Park reminisced about the initial stages of preproduction, recalling his uncertainty over whether he could include blood in the artwork. Fortunately, the answer was affirmative!

He added, “This piece (& more) will also be included in the upcoming The Art of Deadpool and Wolverine. Coming out in October!”

Deadpool and Wolverine square off in bloody concept art

Andy Park’s concept art displays Deadpool with two katana blades, one slicing Wolverine along his side. Simultaneously, Wolverine brandishes his claws, mirroring Hugh Jackman’s attire from Deadpool & Wolverine, except without the mask revealed at the movie’s end.

It’s not unexpected that the concept sketches of Deadpool and Wolverine resemble their on-screen versions accurately, given that Andy Park often designs costumes for actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Similarly, costume designer Jonay Bacallado unveiled concept art featuring Lady Deadpool, portrayed by Blake Lively.
