In the film’s credits, Henry Delaney was remembered. In his post, Reynolds explained the decision to honor Henry through the movie.
“Rob Delaney introduced PeterPool (formerly Sugarbear) to us and elegantly redefined the contemporary moose-knuckle, proving how stylish it can be. If theories are accurate, he could become the next Pillar Figure,” Reynolds posted. “There’s more than meets the eye with [Rob Delaney]. He is one of the most covertly amusing individuals I know. He is a brilliant yet sharp and sensitive writer. If you watched the credits of Deadpool & Wolverine, you might spot a credit saying, ‘For Henry Delaney.’ Henry was Rob’s son. Tragically, he passed away from a brain tumor in 2018, just as we were wrapping up Deadpool 2.”
Reynolds stated, “I’ve regretted not including a tribute to Henry in the end credits of DP2, so I’ve been hard on myself about it. However, there is a silver lining: more people are now seeing Henry’s name in the credits. And finally, father and son appear together on the screen.”
