Deadpool & Wolverine Stars and Director Address Potential X-Men and Avengers Crossovers

As a long-time fan of the X-Men universe and having followed the adventures of Deadpool and Wolverine for years, I cannot contain my excitement for the upcoming “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie. The prospect of seeing these iconic characters finally sharing the big screen is not just a dream come true, but a testament to the enduring appeal of these Marvel Comics legends.

As a huge fan, I’m thrilled to share that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine are teaming up for a movie at last! And it gets even better – the iconic X-Men characters are now officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The much-anticipated “Deadpool & Wolverine” hits theaters next week, marking one of the first significant MCU appearances for the mutants who joined Marvel Studios following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. With so many possibilities arising from this merging of universes, ComicBook asked Reynolds, Jackman, and “Deadpool & Wolverine” director Shawn Levy to discuss potential crossovers between the X-Men and Avengers characters post-movie.

Jackman mused, “It’s a mystery to me as well. The storylines are interconnected, so it’s unclear where things are heading. I’ll leave it to Kevin Feige and his team to reveal the plans.”

Levy joined in with a similar thought, expressing that the potential stories for these characters are limitless. At the same time, he couldn’t help but praise the impact of “Deadpool & Wolverine” on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and its main characters.

As a fan, I can’t help but feel exhilarated when I hear the director say, “Anything goes now!” The joy we felt as a team was immense. We had the privilege of crafting a tale with these beloved characters and merging them into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I’m just in awe, basking in the fortune of being the filmmaker at the helm of this incredible journey.

Reynolds also expressed his contentment, exclaiming “That’s enough! We’re happy with that.” Moreover, he appreciated the freedom to create a standalone film without promoting another production. The audience would be treated to a complete story with a beginning, middle, and end, leaving them thoroughly entertained and potentially happier than they’ve ever been after watching a movie.

In the Marvel Studios production titled “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Deadpool, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds, and Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, are set to alter the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s history. This film boasts an impressive cast, including Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox and Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova. Notable returning Deadpool co-stars are Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapi?i? as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Rob Delaney as Peter, and Lewis Tan as Shatterstar. Aaron Stanford reappears on screen as Pyro from the X-Men franchise, while rumors swirl around Jennifer Garner’s potential return as Elektra Natchios.

Kevin Feige, Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy, and Lauren Shuler Donner take on production duties for “Deadpool & Wolverine,” with Louis D’Esposito, Wendy Jacobson, Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, George Dewey, Simon Kinberg, Rhett Reese, and Paul Wernick serving as executive producers. The screenplay is written by Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells, with Shawn Levy also contributing. “Deadpool & Wolverine” is set to premiere exclusively in theaters on July 26th.
