At SXSW 2025, Koijma Productions unveiled an exciting sneak peek of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach during their special event. Director Hideo Kojima himself hinted at this, and the ten-minute trailer packed with fresh gameplay has got me pumped! It also confirmed a launch date for PS5 on June 26th. I can’t wait to pre-order my copy starting March 17th. The Standard Edition will set me back $69.99. Can’t believe the wait is almost over!
There’s much to explore in the trailer’s narrative. An unfamiliar character, portrayed by Luca Marinelli, may be a younger version of Cliff Unger. The character seems to be making a quiet effort to transport herself and Lou out of harm’s way. The setting features automated delivery systems, a portal connecting continents, and servers along the beach. Gigantic B.T.s are capable of engaging in battles resembling those of kaiju, with Sam apparently getting involved unwillingly.
In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the core gameplay of exploring stunning landscapes to deliver packages continues, with Sam boasting advanced tech such as hover pads for extra cargo and an amphibious vehicle that navigates water. Additionally, you’ll encounter varying weather conditions, like sandstorms, adding a new layer of challenge. Keep an eye out for further updates on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach before its release.
