As a dedicated fan who has navigated the post-apocalyptic landscape of Bridges countless times, it’s a sheer delight to witness the incredible journey of Death Stranding. Five years since its initial release, this masterpiece has now reached the hands of over 19 million players worldwide!
It’s undeniably one of the strangest and most innovative AAA games that’s come out lately, and it’s great to see more proof of its success. Here we are again, celebrating another significant achievement by Death Stranding.
In a tweet, Death Stranding’s director Hideo Kojima marked the game’s 5-year milestone by sharing a video message and disclosing that a total of approximately 19 million gamers have played it on various platforms so far.
Last December, the player count was 16 million. Since then, and with its recent release as a shadow drop on Xbox, it’s evident that the game has been drawing in a substantial number of players. This trend is likely to persist, possibly leading to an even larger player base.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that a film adaptation of the captivating world of “Death Stranding” is in the works, while simultaneously, Kojima Productions is diligently developing “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach”, slated for release in 2025 on the PlayStation 5. The studio has also proudly taken full control of this intellectual property, ensuring a unique and authentic experience for us fans.
