Demi Moore is down to embrace aging full throttle.
Actress from “Substance” has earned recognition for her lengthy, brunette tresses in the film industry over the past few decades, particularly following numerous hair changes for movies like “Ghost” and “G.I. Jane”. Her hairstyle has become almost synonymous with her, making it difficult for her to consider any significant changes.
Demi shared with People during an interview for their World’s Most Beautiful issue (published on April 25) that she has developed a strong bond with her hair, especially after experiencing life without it.
She mentioned that she has an unusual bond with her hair, and the idea of cutting it again makes her hesitant. There seems to be a power or spirit within one’s hair, and yet she’s cautious about making absolute statements.
One transformation she’d welcome wholeheartedly is the appearance of gray hair, particularly once it becomes more noticeable.
The 62-year-old expressed, “Absolutely, I admire women with that captivating silver hair, particularly the longer styles. It truly stands out to me.” He added, “Yes, I’d consider it for myself.
Demi explained, “It’s not enough to make it exciting,” she said. “Mine looks sparse, giving my hair a dull appearance. I only started coloring my hair when I turned about 55 years old.
The Oscar nominee chuckled and confessed, “It’s become more significant than it once was.” She hinted at one of her deceased relatives as a possible influence for deciding how to style her hair as she grows older.
Demi mentioned that his great grandmother on his mother’s side never had any gray hairs, and she also never got a haircut.
On different occasions, the actress known for her role in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle has expressed thoughts on growing older. Not long ago, she delved into the physical aspect of aging, but more recently, she pondered over the concept of personal growth and development.
She clarified during the TIME100 Summit on April 23, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, that while aging refers to the passing of time, being old is not the same thing. Instead, she emphasized that growing older should be viewed as a valuable and profound gift.
It’s not the first occasion that the actress from “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” has voiced her thoughts on growing older. Interestingly, shortly after addressing the physical implications of aging, Demi pondered over the concept of personal growth and development.
She clarified during the TIME100 Summit on April 23, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, that aging and being old are not synonymous concepts. Instead, she emphasized that we often misunderstand this, and in truth, aging should be recognized as an extraordinary blessing.
Demi emphasized, “I wouldn’t give up being my current age for anything; I couldn’t be paid to be 21 again.” But let me tell you, it was a living nightmare!

She expressed to Self that she doesn’t view aging as becoming more attractive or less so; instead, it’s simply a matter of transformation. As time passes, we evolve, and that’s acceptable. Life is all about adapting and growing.
The idea of ‘anti-aging’ doesn’t exist; everyone ages, full stop. Women often view aging as a personal issue, feeling like they’ve somehow failed because they aren’t staying 25 anymore. To me, it’s absurd because I believe that getting older is a privilege—not everyone has the chance to do so.” She shared this perspective with Access Hollywood.
As someone who has witnessed the progress women have made throughout history, it’s disheartening to see cultural norms that subtly oppress us resurface. Despite our significant advancements today, there seems to be an unspoken rule against showing signs of aging or pregnancy. I can’t help but feel that this issue has only worsened over time. A clever tactic to maintain control is by instilling self-hatred within people for their natural state. However, I choose not to succumb to shame about being human. This was my personal perspective, shared with the Los Angeles Times.
At the age of forty, she found herself thinking, “Ah, I get it now.” She admitted to Harper’s Bazaar that she had grown to accept herself more, and this self-acceptance brought her a great sense of comfort.
She shared with Popsugar that she’s more content with her body now, as this is the body she’s earned through hard work. She has a healthier relationship with it compared to before. While her body might have been more aesthetically pleasing when she was 22 or 23, she didn’t appreciate it then because she was constantly comparing herself to others.
As a woman completely smitten by life, I embrace the signs of aging like gravity and wrinkles – they’re just badges of wisdom etched onto my being. Should my appearance start to droop, with my breasts touching the ground and everything else following suit, turning ordinary into extraordinary, I won’t bat an eye. After all, beauty is more than skin deep, it lies within.
“F–k you. I’m 50. That’s what I’m going to say when I turn 50. Sorry,” as she told Popsugar.
Over six decades of life under my belt, I’ve come to realize that fearlessness holds immense worth – something I wish I had embraced earlier. For far too long, apprehension and trepidation ruled my existence, a choice I now deeply regret. As I shared in an interview with PopSugar, overcoming this fear is a journey I am determined to complete.
As a sixteen-year-old, twenty-eight seems ancient! But when you reach that age, it’s marvelous. You wonder then, what about forty-two? Yuck! And yet, forty-two is wonderful too. With each passing year, you acquire the wisdom to handle it and appreciate it,” she explained to Bustle.
She shared with Ok! Magazine that instead of viewing it as aging, she prefers to think of it as the process of maturing and gaining wisdom. To her, this transformation is a stunning form of beauty.
She expressed surprise to Net-a-Porter Magazine about the idea that women don’t become even more attractive as they grow older. Age often brings self-assurance, and a person’s beauty often stems from their confidence in themselves.
Individuals deceiving about their age are rejecting reality and fostering a harmful trend in our culture – the tendency to want to be something other than oneself… I am confident that embracing one’s authentic identity is essential for fully experiencing life.” This version maintains the original meaning while using more conversational language and simplifying some of the sentence structures.
As I navigate the journey of aging, I find myself reflecting on the wisdom etched into my visage. Each crease, each laugh line, and every age spot tells a story – a testament to moments of joy, sorrow, and everything in between. It’s said that with time, we reveal what lies within. If you’re one who seldom smiles, your countenance may grow droopy. But if you radiate cheerfulness, you’ll wear more smile lines.
These lines, these wrinkles, are not just signs of aging; they are the roads I have trodden, the map of my life’s journey. My face has weathered storms and sunshine from journeys past. It carries with it the memories of laughter shared, tears shed, and lessons learned.
Why should I attempt to erase these stories, these remnants of a life lived? They are the very essence of who I am – the chapters that make up my book of experiences. Instead, I choose to embrace them, to let them tell their tales. This is my way of saying, “I have lived.
She shared with Glamour that, over time, women tend to grow more confident about their sexuality as they age. They become less intimidated or ashamed by it, instead embracing it fully. This confidence seems to stem from a combination of maturity, knowledge, and comfort in one’s own body.
