UK enthusiasts of Den of Thieves have endured a prolonged anticipation, but luckily, the launch date for the eagerly awaited sequel has been announced, and it won’t be much longer before we get to see it!
Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr are set to reprise their roles as Detective Big Nick O’Brien and master thief Donnie Wilson in the sequel of Den of Thieves, titled Den of Thieves: Pantera. This action-packed film will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting from Friday 25th April.
According to the plot summary for the action movie, “enemies find themselves united, with the risks greater than ever before.
Their unique bond, marked by camaraderie, wit, and undercurrents of stress, intensifies further as they team up for an audacious plan to pull off a grand heist at the globe’s most significant diamond marketplace.
Joining forces with Butler and Jackson Jr in this film are Michael Bisping (from xXx: Return of Xander Cage), Salvatore Esposito (known for Gomorrah), and Orli Shuka (starring in All the Old Knives).
This year, the movie made its first appearance in American theaters and managed to earn a 63% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Additionally, it’s been announced that a third installment of the film is being developed by Lionsgate.
Jackson Jr told Variety that he’s being completely honest when he says he aims to be as dedicated and successful as Vin Diesel in this project. In the words of Ryan Reynolds, he wants to keep working alongside Gerard until he reaches the age of 90.
There’s a strong sense of camaraderie among these individuals that feels like family to me. I’m eager to work on other projects, but we mustn’t compromise the extraordinary bond and quality we’ve built together with this project. It took us six or seven years to complete, and I fervently hope the next one won’t take as long. At our core, we can’t create another installment unless it preserves the essence that initially captivated audiences and made them fall in love with the franchise.
