Denzel Washington Reveals What King Charles III Said During Exchange

As someone who has closely followed the lives of royals for years, it is fascinating to witness such a flurry of events unfolding in quick succession. From Kate Middleton’s planned abdominal surgery to Queen Margrethe II of Denmark officially abdicating the throne, it seems as though the monarchy is undergoing a significant transformation.

Denzel Washington checked another item off his bucket list.

Indeed, the iconic actor recently shared his experience meeting King Charles III during the Gladiator II premiere in London Nov. 13.

During his November 18th visit to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, Denzel shared with Jimmy the guidelines such as “keeping your distance”, “letting them speak first”, and “avoiding handshakes”. However, in his eagerness, he admitted to having forgotten these rules altogether.

And while it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to meet the English monarch, Denzel said they kept the conversation brief, sticking to small talk.

He suggested that being a king is wonderful, and the first one I can recall was the one who expressed his admiration for all of my films.

Additionally, when the late-night host astonishingly inquired if the royal had truly watched every film starring Denzel, the Equalizer actor humorously stressed, “He claimed – all of them.

Indeed, Denzel wasn’t the sole celebrity who encountered the king that evening. The ensemble cast of “Gladiator II” – featuring Pedro Pascal, Paul Mescal, and Connie Nielsen – also had the opportunity to greet the king during the movie premiere.

Meanwhile, Paul too expressed his genuine feelings about the event during the movie’s premiere in Los Angeles on November 18th. He mentioned that the occasion held significant weight for the director, Ridley Scott, but it didn’t carry the same magnitude for him personally.

Paul shared with Variety, “It wasn’t something I ever expected to happen, like finding a surprise prize on a bingo card. As an Irishman, it’s not typically high on my list of priorities, but this recognition is truly significant for Ridley because I know how much he values it. Seeing his movie receive such acclaim in that setting was quite extraordinary.

As for what the Normal People star remembered from the brief encounter?

He remembered nodding in agreement, “as if following the conversation,” he said. “However, my mind was racing so much that I struggled to grasp his words precisely, thus I continued to nod and smile.

This month’s event saw King Charles make an appearance while he continues his fight against cancer. Following the disclosure of his illness in February, he has reduced some of his responsibilities, with Queen Camilla stepping up to take on more tasks instead.

On September 3rd, during a visit at the Dyson Cancer Center, Camilla offered an encouraging update about her spouse, stating that he was “currently in good health and doing exceptionally well.

She added that it can also make you confront your personal vulnerabilities in ways you might not have thought of before, offering a fresh viewpoint on life as a whole.

On challenging days when you’re drained, exhausted, and must yield to your body’s need for rest, as shared by Kate via Instagram on June 14. Conversely, on days when you’re energized and strong, there’s a desire to seize the moment and make the most of feeling good.

On May 13th, I, an overjoyed admirer, found myself caught up in a whirlwind of conversation when King Charles III conferred the esteemed position of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps upon his eldest son. Three months after he bravely shared his cancer news, on April 26th, I eagerly learned that my beloved Prince Charles is set to resume his public appearances once more, as announced by Buckingham Palace.
