Well, here’s some exciting news I stumbled upon earlier this week! Unfortunately, it seems Electronic Arts (EA) decided to shelve their much-anticipated Black Panther video game project, and they’ve also closed the studio responsible for its creation.
Approximately two years back, it was formally unveiled as part of a trilateral collaboration with Marvel.
With the termination of the project, it seems that Electronic Arts’ partnership with Marvel remains unaffected.
According to EA Entertainment’s president, Laura Miele, the partnership between EA and Marvel remains robust, and they are working together on multiple titles over a prolonged period.
Furthermore, another representative shared this comment: “The partnership between Marvel Games and EA, which involves creating unique stories featuring popular Marvel characters, is robust and enduring. The development of our console and computer games, starting with Marvel’s Iron Man, is spearheaded by Motive Studios.
When inquired whether Electronic Arts (EA) is still intending to develop a grand total of three games, the representative affirmed that indeed, it’s their current plan.
Although the Black Panther game has been discontinued, Electronic Arts (EA) continues to have plans for a set of three Marvel games, starting with an Iron Man title developed by Motive Studios – an announcement made in 2022.
The creators of the Dead Space remake are the same group that also delivered Star Wars: Squadrons, and they lent their talents to Star Wars Battlefront 2 as well. Interestingly, Battlefront 2 has recently experienced a significant increase in player activity.
