As an old-school Guardian with over a decade of combat logs under my belt, the news about Destiny 2‘s Year 11 and beyond roadmap, codenamed Frontiers, has me more pumped than ever before! I can still remember the thrill of my first raid in the original Destiny, and the return of some classic gear from that era is like a sweet blast from the past.
Bungie has detailed their future plans for Destiny 2, starting from Year 11 and beyond under the name “Codename: Frontiers”. For more information, you can check it out here. In the interim, they are commemorating the looter shooter’s 10th anniversary by offering some free gifts to players.
In-game, players have an opportunity to obtain free armor sets reminiscent of the original Destiny 1, but you’ll need to traverse the ancient Tower in The Pale Heart to locate them. Additionally, you can acquire a new title, “Legend”, and a symbol by finishing tasks within this area. Finishing The Final Shape’s Legendary campaign is mandatory; however, progress will be credited for those who have already accomplished this task.
Lastly, Bungie is hinting at the comeback of Icebreaker, an Exotic Solar sniper rifle from Destiny 1. You can expect it to show up in the upcoming dungeon; further information will be disclosed at a later point. Keep an eye out for more news until then.
In case you’re wondering where to find it, “Destiny 2” can be played on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, as well as PCs. The next episode, titled “Episode 2: Revenant“, begins on October 8th. For updates regarding its Raid and Dungeon Rotator changes, you can follow this link.
