On June 24th at 10 AM Pacific Daylight Time, Bungie has scheduled their first Developer Livestream for the upcoming expansion of Destiny 2 titled “The Edge of Fate.” During this stream, they will share insights about Kepler, the next destination, and discuss how player equipment is undergoing changes.
For those who may be unfamiliar, “The Edge of Fate” introduces several updates, such as additional challenge levels. In terms of equipment, Armor 3.0 brings significant alterations to stats, now capping at 200 instead of 100. Previously defined tiers are eliminated; each point contributes to a stat. Additionally, armor will possess archetypes that influence the randomized stats and set bonuses.
If additional modifications aren’t sufficient, the system will swap your existing armor pieces. However, this change won’t provide any set benefits. In other words, you’ll have to start gathering new armor sets from scratch again, which might not be exciting news for veteran players. Yet, your old armor remains functional.
On July 15th, Destiny 2: The Fate’s Edge will be released on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms. Meanwhile, Bungie, its creator, has postponed the launch of Marathon; they plan to reveal the new release date during the fall season.
