Destiny 2 Travels to a Galaxy Far, Far Away in Star Wars Themed Expansion on PS5, PS4

Bungie has no plans to stop supporting Destiny 2, which means players can breathe a bit easier knowing that its forthcoming tactical shooter, Marathon, won’t be shouldering all the anticipation alone.

During a recent live broadcast, Sony’s affiliate unveiled comprehensive details about their upcoming first-person shooter title, highlighting two expansion packs. One of these expansions draws inspiration from the Star Wars universe.

The content schedule is as such:

  • The Edge of Fate: 15th July
  • Renegades: 2nd December

On July 15th, we’ll be releasing a major game update that brings alterations to the initial gaming experience for our freshly recruited players.

In simpler terms, we’re introducing an improved menu where you can easily find and access your preferred games faster, making it easier for newcomers to start playing immediately.

Another notable feature is that the new Solo Ops give you the option to play the game individually without needing cooperation from others. This means you can unwind in single-player mode if teaming up isn’t your preference for this gaming session. It seems like a thoughtful inclusion, as not everyone is always up for joining a Fireteam.

As a gamer, I’m super pumped about the upcoming expansions! The Edge of Fate is going to take us deep into the roots of Destiny’s cosmos, introducing fresh gameplay mechanics, powers, and an engrossing storyline. On the other hand, Renegades promises an exclusive adventure reminiscent of Star Wars, with further details to be unveiled in September.

While we may not claim to be experts on Destiny 2, we believe that making the game more approachable with engaging expansions is a sensible approach. However, it’s likely that even with all the upcoming changes, Destiny 2 might still present a challenge for newcomers in 2025. Nevertheless, we commend Bungie’s efforts and are eager to see how well their plans will pay off.

You can now pre-order the latest expansions on the PlayStation Store. If you’re already invested in both The Edge of Fate and Renegades, consider getting the Year of Prophecy bundle, offering significant savings. Additionally, for those interested, there’s a Collector’s Edition available for purchase at the Bungie Store. This exclusive package comes with an impressive statue and other physical collectibles.
