Destiny: Rising Takes Places in an Alternate Timeline With New Locations

As a die-hard Destiny fan who’s spent countless hours exploring the universe of light and darkness, I can hardly contain my excitement for NetEase Games’ upcoming mobile adaptation, Destiny: Rising! The fact that it’s set in a separate timeline post-The Collapse, with humanity struggling to regain its footing, just adds another layer of intrigue to the lore.

NetEase Games’ “Destiny: Rising,” a mobile version of Bungie’s well-known shooter game, has been confirmed as genuine. However, where does it stand in terms of the overall storyline? In a recent Developer Preview, both teams talked about the free-to-play title and its distinct characteristics. You can watch more details below.

In a distinct timeline following the current game, we find ourselves in the aftermath of The Collapse, known as the Dark Age. Humanity is battling for survival amidst this post-apocalyptic era. The Iron Lords step in to aid them and unite against various menacing alien species. However, it’s ultimately the responsibility of new Lightbearers to take charge and guide humanity towards recovery.

Setting foot at Haven, our sanctuary as humanity, I’ll embark on an exciting journey that takes me to fresh destinations. One such place is Jiangshi, a frozen, ancient metro, and the Red Sea Rift with its vast, arid landscapes. As I delve deeper into these unexplored territories, the enigma of the Darkness lingers – what part does it play in our story?

It’s yet to be revealed when we can officially play Destiny: Rising, but mark your calendars for November 1st as that’s when the closed alpha is set to release on iOS and Android. Don’t forget to sign up for pre-registration!
