Over time, Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army, a unique role-playing game on PlayStation 2, has been underestimated and forgotten by many.
Approximately two decades following its initial debut, the intriguing (yet captivating) game is set for a facelift, known as Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army. This updated version will be available on both PS5 and PS4 starting June 19th.
Instead of the combat systems in other titles within the Devil Summoner series (a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei), Raidou offers a unique action-based approach, where the main character, a detective, wields his sword and casts spells against various demonic adversaries.

It’s intriguing to note that Atlus describes this remaster as featuring combat enhancements, along with a fresh user interface, complete voice-overs, and extended 3D environments. This could hint at it leaning more towards being a remake instead of just an upgraded port in HD.
Raidou stands out from other games in the Atlus RPG series due to its action combat and distinct 1930s Japan setting, which may explain why it was selected for this revival – perhaps because it’s a bit of an unconventional member of the family.
