As a seasoned moviegoer who has witnessed countless films spanning several decades, I must say that the prospect of a sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada” has me both excited and nostalgic. The original film, released way back when I was still sporting a mullet (a choice I deeply regret), left an indelible mark on my cinematic soul.
Following news that a follow-up to the cherished 2006 comedy-drama The Devil Wears Prada is being developed, one of its actors, Emily Blunt, has expressed her thoughts about potentially reprising her role.
Regarding the initial production of the movie, Blunt commented, “At that time, I knew absolutely nothing. My agent called me over the film’s opening weekend and said, ‘It earned this.’ I replied, ‘Is that a positive thing?’
Additionally, Blunt mentioned that taking on the role of Emily in the movie opened up more possibilities for her and prevented her from being stereotyped.
If the actors from The Devil Wears Prada decide to reprise their roles in a sequel, fans who loved the original movie can already experience more of that world, since a musical version premiered in London earlier this year.
He said: “The film is a classic and it’s aged brilliantly, and fashion and music go together so well, so there were so many scenes in the film that were crying out for music. It was a no-brainer for me.
I’m thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to compose for this unique type of music; it’s a joyous change from Shakespeare, and it’s simply a blast! The costumes are fabulous, the actors are exceptional, and the choreography is nothing short of brilliant.
