Devolver Digital Has Delayed Skate Story, Baby Steps to 2025

As a longtime gamer with a soft spot for unique and innovative titles, I must admit that these delays are a bit of a double-edged sword for me. On one hand, I understand the complexities of game development and the importance of taking the time to create a polished experience. On the other hand, as someone who’s been waiting with bated breath for titles like Skate Story, Baby Steps, and Stick it to the Stickman, these delays can feel a bit like being on a rollercoaster – the excitement of anticipation followed by the abrupt drop of disappointment.

Just like last year, Devolver Digital once again hosted a satirical award ceremony and revealed that several of their upcoming games, initially scheduled for a 2024 release, have been postponed.

There’s Skate Story, a surreal, trippy skateboarder that was first announced in 2022 and was originally due out last year, before being pushed to 2024 in last year’s aforementioned delay showcase. Another prominent one that many have had their eye on is Baby Steps, a physics-based walking simulator from the makers of Ape Out, QWOP, and Getting Over It. Finally, Free Lives’ roguelike beat ’em up Stick it to the Stickman has also been delayed.

Towards the end of the year, these delays aren’t exactly unexpected. As of now, there are no specific release dates for any of the three upcoming games. Fingers crossed they manage to meet their newly announced launch timelines, but in game development, delays are always a possibility.
