Diablo 4 Holiday event leaked and I’m not too excited yet

As a seasoned Diablo player with over two decades of looting, slaying, and questing under my belt, I must say that the holiday cheer coming to Sanctuary this December is music to my ears. The ‘Slay Ride to Hell’ event sounds like a delightful twist on the March of the Goblins, and while it might not be the most original concept, I’m always up for a good murderous yuletide romp.

Despite the fact that Diablo 4 might have celebrated midwinter already, they’re not holding back on spreading some festive cheer. It appears we’ll be experiencing Christmas in Sanctuary with a ‘Slay Ride to Hell’ event kicking off on December 17. The event hasn’t been formally confirmed by Blizzard as of yet; instead, it was noticed on the PlayStation dashboard by a Reddit user.

You all asked for it (repeatedly and angrily) from r/diablo4

The event is expected to take place between December 17 and December 31, offering players a full two weeks to gather rewards and defeat holiday-themed goblins. This event appears to share similarities with the March of the Goblins we’ve encountered before, but it comes with a festive flair. Although it may not seem overly creative at first glance, further details might be revealed once the event is formally announced, and since it starts on December 17, that announcement could happen any day soon.

Diablo 4 Season 7 PTR has just finished

In January (the specific date is yet to be revealed), Diablo 4’s Season 7 will kick off. The testing phase in PTR 2.1 has wrapped up, and Blizzard is now diligently making adjustments based on player input for the upcoming season. Expect some user-friendly improvements such as an armory for storing various build configurations, substantial class balancing to tackle the current disparity (with Spiritborn being overly powerful), and a fresh batch of unique items.

In this new season, gamers will be able to harness the magic of Witchcraft and traverse a distinctive region known as ‘Headhunt,’ which can be seen as an adaptation of Helltide that’s being informally referred to as ‘Witchtide.’ However, feedback from the Pre-Launch Test Realm has shown mixed responses, with players expressing concerns about the theme appearing repetitive and reminiscent of Season 2’s Vampyric content. With an increasing number of players turning to Path of Exile 2, Blizzard must ensure that this new season is both captivating and well-received.
