Diablo 4 just teased its next IP collaboration

The game Diablo 4 has shared its future plans which include two collaborations set for 2025. Today, it was announced that the first of these partnerships will be with Berserk, a popular and very dark Japanese manga series written by Kentaro Miura. The brief sneak peek doesn’t reveal much, but I feel reassured because the chosen IP aligns well with Diablo’s dark themes, given my concerns about Blizzard’s definition of a suitable collaboration after they introduced Lilith in Call of Duty. Fortunately, it appears we won’t be seeing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Diablo (for now).

The Berserk collab will be a crossover event with Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal

The trailers for Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal have hinted at an upcoming crossover, as suggested by their social media posts. The trailers only give us the hints “Trace the path of the Black Swordsman” and “You have been branded,” leaving us uncertain about the content. In the trailer, we see a character battling demons while wearing Berserker armor, so I can’t help but wonder how I will manage financially with this new addition to my gaming expenses. Could this be similar to the World of Warcraft skin collaborations?

The collaboration between Berserk and Diablo 4 hasn’t been given a specific release date at present, but an earlier roadmap hinted at the initial crossover IP releases taking place from April to July. This timing aligns with the beginning of Season 8: Belial’s Return, which kicks off on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Even though I am not well-versed in Berserk, I understand its influence on games like Dark Souls, a franchise that holds a special place for me. So, this could be as close to Diablo meeting Dark Souls as we get! Keep an eye out for more updates!
