Did Deadpool & Wolverine Just Confirm a Character's Controversial Death?

As a longtime Marvel fan and avid gamer, I have to admit that the latest Deadpool & Wolverine movie has been an absolute rollercoaster ride for me. The inclusion of the Scarlet Witch easter egg in the film was a real treat for me, but it also raised some intriguing questions about one of my favorite MCU characters.

The movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” is currently showing in theaters, packed with Marvel surprises and appearances. Some are noticeable, while others might require multiple viewings to discover. A significant portion of the film takes place in The Void, a place introduced in the first season of “Loki.” The Void consists of discarded variants by the TVA, so expect to encounter various alternate forms of familiar characters. Additionally, important Marvel artifacts are housed in The Void, including a fragment from “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” In the movie, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) join forces with an unexpected team in The Void. They use Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) Mount Wundagore monument as their temporary shelter. [

An easter egg featuring the Scarlet Witch in this production may not signify any significant implications for the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. It might be a statue from another universe that somehow ended up in The Void. Nevertheless, the statue’s presence poses an intriguing query concerning one of the MCU’s beloved characters: Could Wanda Maximoff have perished?

Did Marvel Studios Confirm Scarlet Witch’s Death?

Towards the finale of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Wanda caused Mount Wundagore to collapse upon herself to keep the Darkhold from completely controlling her. Although few could withstand the massive pressure of a mountain, given Wanda’s immense power in Marvel’s universe, it’s plausible she managed to endure and survive.

Last year saw the publication of “Marvel Studios’ The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline” by Marvel Studios. A passage from this book sparked debate among fans regarding Wanda’s fate. It stated, “As compassionate 838-Wanda comforts the boys and promises them love will endure, in Universe-616, Wanda Maximoff yields: She annihilates Wundagore, causing it to crumble upon herself, eliminating two formidable threats to the Multiverse.” Yet, not all fans are convinced this was a definitive statement of her demise. Even Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios’ head, has hinted at Wanda’s possible resurrection.

“There’s so much more to discover, as we haven’t delved into most of the main storylines from her comic book history,” Keige expressed to Variety earlier. “I’m not sure we actually witnessed her being buried. All I recall is a tower collapsing and a quick glimpse of a red flash.”

In the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Wanda having a statue might not necessarily mean her ultimate fate is revealed, but it was an exciting addition for fans. We can anticipate clarification on this matter from the upcoming Disney+ series “WandaVision: Agatha All Along,” premiering on September 18th. In the meantime, enjoy watching “Deadpool & Wolverine” exclusively in cinemas.
