Diddy Sues NBC for $100 Million Over Defamatory Peacock Documentary

Sean “Diddy” Combs is taking legal action.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m sharing an interesting update: I, myself, am the founder of Bad Boy Records and have recently taken a legal step against NBCUniversal. This action comes as a response to their streaming service, Peacock, releasing the documentary titled “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy“. According to reports obtained by TopMob News on February 12th, I’m seeking a substantial compensation of $100 million dollars.

In the court filing, Combs, currently incarcerated on charges of sex-trafficking and racketeering, claimed NBCUniversal defamed him by airing a documentary riddled with false accusations. He asserted that the company knowingly and carelessly disseminated the program, which contained allegations he committed heinous acts such as “serial murder” and “sexual abuse of minors,” without any substantial proof whatsoever.

In creating and spreading these untruths, as mentioned in the document, the defendants appear to be exploiting the public’s fascination with scandals, disregarding facts, and unfairly jeopardizing Mr. Combs’s chance for a fair trial.

Specifically, Combs claimed that the documentary, which was premiered on Peacock on January 14, suggested he had killed his ex-partner Kim Porter, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 47. Kim and the “I’ll Be Missing You” artist had an on-and-off relationship that spanned more than a decade before they separated in 2007. Together, they share a son named King, who is now 26 years old, as well as twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie, both aged 18, with Combs.

The documentary unfairly implicates Mr. Combs for murdering his late partner, Kimberly Porter, who was the mother of his children, by suggesting this despite the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirming her death as natural and without any indication of wrongdoing or foul play. The documentary spreads a false story that it is not a mere coincidence that Ms. Porter and others close to Mr. Combs have passed away, in an attempt to misleadingly imply that he was responsible for their deaths.

2019 saw the official determination that Kim’s death was due to lobar pneumonia, with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner classifying it as a natural cause.

TopMob News reached out to NBC and Peacock for comment on the lawsuit but has not heard back.

Besides the lawsuit against NBC, Combs is also grappling with another legal issue: he’s set for a trial on May 5 regarding federal charges that include racketeering, forced sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. Arrested in September, Combs has pleaded not guilty to all three accusations.

Apart from refuting the accusations openly, he penned down a statement on Instagram in December, expressing, “I am not responsible for any of the appalling actions that are being claimed.

On March 25th, Federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted searches at the Los Angeles and Miami residences of Sean “Diddy” Combs, according to several law enforcement sources who spoke with NBC News. The warrant originated from the Southern District of New York, and HSI New York confirmed to TopMob News that they were executing search warrants as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners. At the time of the searches, it was reported that Combs was in the Miami area.

In a turn of events, I found myself under scrutiny following accusations of inappropriate behavior, primarily sexual misconduct, in lawsuits filed by several individuals, starting from November onwards. However, I want to make it clear that these allegations are baseless; I am innocent and will vigorously defend my reputation, my family, and the truth. In a statement shared on Instagram last December, I made it unequivocally clear that I have not engaged in any of the acts being claimed against me. These accusations appear to be attempts at financial gain.

A day after the search warrants were carried out at Sean Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami by HSI, his attorney Aaron Dyer spoke up. In a statement to TopMob News on March 26th, Dyer criticized the excessive use of force during the searches, stating that there was no justification for the aggressive behavior displayed by the authorities towards Combs’ children and employees. He also clarified that Combs was not detained but willingly spoke with and cooperated with the authorities. The statement further emphasized that neither Combs nor any of his family members had been arrested or had their travel restricted, and that the events were an unwarranted ambush, followed by a coordinated media presence, leading to premature judgments against Combs. This, according to Dyer, is simply a witch hunt based on unsubstantiated claims made in civil lawsuits.

As a die-hard fan, let me tell you, when it comes to those allegations against him, there’s been no conviction, either criminal or civil. Mr. Combs maintains his innocence and remains steadfast in his daily battle to prove his name is spotless.

According to various law enforcement sources who are knowledgeable about the warrant, it was reported by NBC News that authorities from the Department of Homeland Security confiscated phones from Diddy’s (Combs) Miami residence prior to his travel to the Bahamas. Additionally, several sources familiar with the situation mentioned that firearms were found during the search.

A person knowledgeable about the situation has confirmed to NBC News that four individuals – three women and one man – were questioned by prosecutors and investigators from the Southern District of New York regarding accusations of sex trafficking, sexual assault, illicit drug trading, and firearm possession, which are said to be associated with Combs.

On the same day that search warrants were executed at Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles, one of his associates, Brendan Paul, was apprehended by the Miami-Dade police on suspicion of drug possession. This information was shared with NBC News by a source familiar with the case. According to the arrest affidavit obtained by NBC News from the Miami-Dade police, Paul was detained for allegedly holding suspected cocaine and marijuana edibles. Prison records indicate that he was released on bond on March 26. In response to this, Paul’s attorney, Brian Bieber, stated, “We do not intend to try this case in the media; all matters will be addressed in court.” Later in May, Paul agreed to a plea deal. His lawyer, Bieber, informed People magazine that “Brendan accepted the prosecutor’s offer to enroll him in a diversion program. Upon completion of this program, the entire case against him will be dropped.

On September 16, 2024, as reported by NBC News, he was taken into custody in the lobby of a New York hotel. The specific charges against him are not yet known, and it remains undetermined whether this arrest is linked to any recent raids.

Mr. Combs’ legal representative, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment over the U.S. Attorney’s Office decision to pursue a prosecution they view as unjust. In their opinion, Mr. Combs is not a criminal despite his imperfections. To show his willingness to cooperate with the investigation, Mr. Combs moved voluntarily to New York last week, in preparation for these charges.

The lawyer added, “Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Following Combs’ arrest on a previously sealed indictment, the charges were made public on September 17.

The 54-year-old is accused of various crimes including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution, as reported by NBC News based on court documents.

The indictment claims that Combs exploited, intimidated, and coerced women over a period of more than ten years, starting around 2008. The alleged behavior is said to have been used to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his actions.

According to the documents, Combs leveraged the employees, resources, and influence of his extensive business empire to create a criminal network. This enterprise, as stated in the documents, was involved in numerous crimes such as sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

As reported by NBC News, Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, stated outside the courtroom before the hearing that Combs will vigorously contest the charges and has complete faith in his legal team. However, bail was not granted to him.

After his apprehension, Combs remained detained at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center and was initially refused bail amounting to $50 million. Known as a music magnate, he also underwent suicide observation, reportedly a standard practice for notable inmates by TopMob News sources. He has since been removed from this watch.

A source informed NBC News that he was given the same sector of the prison as Sam Bankman-Fried, who is known for his involvement in cryptocurrency fraud.

34-year-old comedian Jeff Wittek confessed on September 29 that he had been to one of Diddy’s infamous “let loose” parties, which took place at a Miami mansion, approximately in the year 2010.

Speaking on Jeff FM, I found myself marveling at a structure that seemed to stretch endlessly towards the sky, reaching an astonishing eight stories tall. The higher I climbed, the more peculiar and intriguing the scene became.

He went on to describe an incident that occurred the previous night, stating, “I witnessed an explicit display of intimacy unfold before me.” He further explained, “It was a first for me, something I had never experienced in my life. And as for my participation? None whatsoever. However, I did end up getting quite intoxicated.

As Wittek put it, “It’s just crazy. I was literally there. I lived through it.”

During a press conference held on October 1st, lawyer Tony Buzbee disclosed that a total of 120 individuals have made fresh accusations of sexual assault against the rapper.

In a press conference with NBC News, Buzbee stated that the accusations against Combs involve:
– Physical sexual assault or rape,
– Encouraging sexual activities while under the influence of controlled substances,
– Sharing explicit video recordings, and
– Sexually abusing minors.

Later on, the attorney representing Erica Wolff made clear statements in response to the accusations, highlighting that Combs continues to assert his innocence.

She stated, “He isn’t able to respond to every baseless accusation in this sensationalized media frenzy. However, let me clarify, Mr. Combs strongly and unequivocally denies any allegations of sexual misconduct, particularly against minors, as untrue and defamatory.

At a press conference held on October 1st, as reported by NBC News, Tony Buzbee, the legal representative, stated that one of the 120 individuals making allegations was merely 9 years old at the time they claimed to have been assaulted by Combs.

According to the attorney, “25 of the accusers were minors at the time of the alleged incidents.”

Janice’s attorney, Natlie G. Figgers, expressed her sadness in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on Oct. 6. She described the situation as my son being unfairly condemned based on falsehoods rather than truth. Witnessing this apparent public execution of my son before he can present his case and demonstrate his innocence is an agony that words cannot express. Just like any other individual, my son has the right to a fair trial, to express his version of events, and to prove his innocence.

The attorney for Beyoncé and Jay-Z issued a response following Jaguar Wright’s assertion on Piers Morgan’s television show that the couple allegedly have more “victims” than Diddy.

Lawyer Alex Spiro stated to TMZ on October 9th: “There are rumors, then there’s nonsense, but this goes beyond both – it’s a serious, explicit allegation.

In simpler terms, Piers was instructed by their lawyer to take down the untrue claim he had made, which he subsequently did and issued an apology.

On his October 8th broadcast, Piers mentioned that they weren’t available for response or defense at the time. However, things have changed – their legal representative has reached out to state that these allegations are entirely fabricated and lack any factual foundation.
