Sean “Diddy” Combs has his family behind him.
Six out of seven of the rapper’s offspring demonstrated their backing for their father by turning up at the closing session of jury selection on May 12. The trial, which Judge Arun Subramanian will oversee, is scheduled to commence with opening statements soon.
The sons of Combs – Christian “King” Combs, Justin Combs, and Quincy Brown, along with his daughters Chance Combs, Jessie Combs, and D’Lila Combs – emerged from a black vehicle and walked towards a gathering of spectators at the Federal District Courthouse in lower Manhattan.
In my role as a lifestyle guide, I was fortunate enough to be accompanied by my grandkids at a recent court hearing, seated comfortably in the second row of the courtroom – none other than the esteemed Janice Combs, my mother, by my side.
Since his September arrest on allegations of racketeering, sex trafficking through force, fraud, or coercion, and transporting individuals for prostitution, numerous relatives have continued to support him.
Among them, Janice – his mother – stands out. She was present at the March 14 arraignment where Combs denied the charges against him in the second supplementary indictment. Alongside him were his children: Chance, a 19-year-old son he shares with ex Sarah Chapman, and Christian, his eldest, who is 27 years old and was born to late ex Kim Porter.
Next month, Combs faced two extra charges for sex trafficking and facilitating prostitution across state lines, as outlined in a new indictment. He has entered a plea of not guilty.
During his ongoing court cases, Janice has made statements earlier expressing unwavering backing for the Combs family, which she stands by.
As a lifestyle advisor, I cannot help but feel the deep sorrow of witnessing my child’s character misrepresented, not through truthful accounts, but fabricated tales. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on October 6th, I, Natalie G. Figgers, shared this sentiment. To watch what appears to be a public execution of my son before he has been given the chance to clear his name is an agony beyond words. Just like any other person, he deserves a fair trial, the opportunity to express his perspective, and the chance to establish his innocence.
His children have united to demonstrate their backing for their father. Furthermore, his adopted son Quincy, who is the offspring of Kim Porter and music producer Al B. Sure, publicly declared in October that he aligns with the music tycoon’s stance.
Quincy expressed on Instagram on October 22nd that the past month has been incredibly tough for our family. Unfortunately, he and we have faced criticism due to unfounded accusations, wild speculations, and misleading stories that have been blown out of proportion on social media platforms.
He reinforced his support, stating, “Together, we’re with you at every turn.” Under a picture of his family members, he added, “We cling to truth, confident it will triumph, and our family bond remains unshakable. We dearly miss and love you, Dad.
To untangle all of Combs’ legal trouble, keep reading.
Federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) carried out searches at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami on March 25, as confirmed by multiple law enforcement sources to NBC News. The warrant was issued from the Southern District of New York, and HSI New York spokesperson verified that they were executing legal actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from local partners in HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement. At the time of the searches, it is reported that Combs was in the Miami area.
News emerged about an investigation following accusations of sexual misconduct against Combs, which were detailed in lawsuits filed by several individuals from November onwards. The musician has consistently denied these allegations, stating through a December Instagram post that “I am being falsely accused by people seeking a quick payday.” He further emphasized his intention to defend his reputation, family, and the truth.
A day after the search warrants were carried out by HSI at both P. Diddy’s Los Angeles and Miami residences, his lawyer, Aaron Dyer, issued a statement. “On March 25th,” he said to TopMob News, “there was an excessive use of force that bordered on military tactics during the execution of search warrants at Mr. Combs’ homes.” He criticized the authorities for their aggressive and hostile behavior towards his client, his children, and employees. Dyer pointed out that Combs was not detained but willingly spoke with and cooperated with law enforcement. His statement also clarified that neither Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested or had travel restrictions imposed upon them. He described the incident as an unexpected ambush, accompanied by a well-organized media presence, which led to a hasty judgment against Mr. Combs. This, he asserted, is nothing more than a witch hunt based on unfounded accusations made in civil lawsuits.
In other words, Dyer conveyed that Mr. Combs intends to protect himself from the accusations made against him. He further stated that no charges have been proven in any of these allegations. Consequently, Mr. Combs is maintaining his innocence and will persistently work to establish his innocence each day.
During the searches, it’s been reported by multiple law enforcement sources who are knowledgeable about the warrant, that authorities from the Department of Homeland Security took phones from Diddy’s residence in Miami before his planned trip to the Bahamas. Furthermore, several sources acquainted with the situation mentioned finding guns during the search.
A person with knowledge of the situation has shared that NBC News was informed by a source that four individuals – three women and one man – were questioned by prosecutors and investigators from the Southern District of New York regarding accusations involving sex trafficking, sexual misconduct, illegal drug distribution, and firearm possession, which are said to be associated with Combs.
On the same day that search warrants were served at Combs’ Miami and Los Angeles properties, one of his associates, Brendan Paul, was apprehended by the Miami-Dade police on drug possession charges. This information was shared with NBC News by a law enforcement source knowledgeable about the situation.
According to the arrest affidavit from Miami-Dade, Paul was detained for allegedly having suspected cocaine and marijuana edibles in his possession. The records show that he was released on bond on March 26th.
Paul’s attorney, Brian Bieber, stated through NBC News that they do not intend to try the case in public: “All issues will be addressed in court.”
Later in May, Paul agreed to a plea deal, as confirmed by his lawyer, Brian Bieber, to People. He said, “Brendan accepted the prosecutor’s offer to allow him into the diversion program. Once he completes this program, the entire case against him will be dropped.
On September 16, 2024, I found myself handcuffed in the lobby of a New York hotel, as reported by NBC News. The specific charges against me remain elusive, and it’s yet to be determined whether this arrest has any links with the recent raids.
His legal representative, Marc Agnifilo, expressed dismay over the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s choice to pursue a case against Mr. Combs that they believe is unfair. They consider him an individual with flaws, but not a criminal. To his advantage, Mr. Combs has been fully cooperative with this investigation and moved voluntarily to New York last week in preparation for these charges.
Following his arrest on a confidential warrant, the charges against Combs were made public on September 17.
The 54-year-old is accused of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking through force, fraud or coercion, and transportation for prostitution, as revealed by court papers obtained by NBC News.
The indictment alleges that Combs exploited, intimidated, and compelled women and others close to him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his actions over a period of more than ten years. The alleged misconduct is said to have begun around 2008, according to prosecutors.
“In order to carry out these acts,” the documents state, “Combs utilized the employees, resources, and influence of the extensive business empire he led and controlled, thereby creating a criminal organization whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, various illegal activities such as sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
In my professional opinion, I find myself standing firm in the face of recent events. As NBC News reported, I have pleaded not guilty and am currently unable to post bail. Rest assured, I am gathering all my strength and determination, as my esteemed legal representative Marc Agnifilo has shared with reporters outside the courthouse, prior to the arraignment. We are collectively working towards a strong defense, filled with confidence in our legal strategy.
After being apprehended, Combs was detained at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center and refused bail amounting to $50 million. Known for his work in the music industry, he was also placed under suicide observation, a routine step for well-known prisoners, according to TopMob News’ source. However, he has since been removed from this watch.
A source informed NBC News that he was placed in the same section of the prison as Sam Bankman-Fried, who is known for being involved in cryptocurrency fraud.
34-year-old comedian Jeff Wittek admitted on September 29 that he had been to one of Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, informal parties called “freak off” events, which allegedly took place around 2010 at a Miami mansion.
On Jeff FM, Wittek described it as having a staggering height of about eight stories, and as one ascended, the scenes became increasingly bizarre.
He went on to explain, “I witnessed an explicit display of intimacy that evening, which was a first for me. I didn’t participate, but I ended up getting quite intoxicated instead.
As Wittek put it, “It’s just crazy. I was literally there. I lived through it.”
At a press conference held on October 1st, lawyer Tony Buzbee revealed that a total of 120 individuals have made fresh accusations of sexual assault against the rapper.
During a joint news conference with NBC News, Buzbee stated that the accusations levied against Combs involve charges such as:
1. Sexual assault or rape of a violent nature.
2. Encouraging sexual activity while under the influence of controlled substances.
3. Sharing recordings of these activities.
4. Abuse of minors in a sexual context.
In a subsequent statement, Erica Wolff’s legal representative underlined that Sean Combs continues to assert his innocence in response to the accusations levied against him.
She stated, “He can’t respond to every baseless accusation in this wild, sensationalized media spectacle. However, let it be clear: Mr. Combs firmly and unequivocally refutes as untrue and defamatory any claim that he has sexually abused anyone, especially minors.
During a press conference on October 1st, as reported by NBC News, Tony Buzbee, the lawyer in question, stated that one of the 120 individuals accusing Combs alleged that they were assaulted when they were just nine years old.
According to the attorney, “25 of the accusers were minors at the time of the alleged incidents.”
Janice’s lawyer, Natlie G. Figgers, expressed her sorrow in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on Oct. 6, stating that it is devastating to watch her son being judged based on falsehoods rather than the truth. She described the apparent public trial of her son before he has had the chance to establish his innocence as an agony beyond words. Just like any other individual, her son deserves a fair court hearing where he can express his version of events and demonstrate his innocence.
As a diehard fan, I couldn’t help but jump into the conversation when Jaguar Wright, Piers Morgan’s recent guest, suggested that Beyoncé and Jay-Z have amassed more “victims” than Diddy. I simply can’t let such a statement pass without addressing it! In my opinion, their immense success, influence, and contributions to the music industry far outweigh any allegations or controversies that might have arisen along the way.
Lawyer Alex Spiro stated to TMZ on Oct. 9 that “There’s gossip, there’s absurdity, but this goes beyond – it’s a direct and serious allegation.
In simpler terms, “Piers was instructed by their lawyer to take down the untrue claim, which he subsequently did and offered an apology.
In my recent broadcast on October 8th, I pointed out that they weren’t there to counter the allegations at the time. However, things have changed now, as their legal representative has reached out to convey that these accusations are entirely fabricated and lack any foundation in reality.
In an updated lawsuit initially submitted in October 2024, defendant Ashley Parkham alleged that Odell Beckham Jr., Druski, and Combs had taken part in a group sexual assault involving her in the year 2018, which was reportedly in March 2025.
Both men denied the claims.
In March 2025, Combs reappeared in court to deny charges brought forth in an updated indictment, which claimed he coerced staff into working excessive hours and made threats against them if they resisted.
Following a court directive for the “Jane Doe” plaintiff to disclose her identity and resubmit her lawsuit – initially filed in October 2024 and alleging sexual assault against Combs – the case was dropped when the plaintiff failed to meet the deadline for refiling within the stipulated time period.
On May 5th, 2025, exactly one week prior to the start of opening arguments in a trial, the process of selecting the jury commenced. The jury consisted of 12 main members and 6 alternates.
