Jury selection for Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial has begun.

Following Judge Arun Subramanian’s rejection of the defense team’s plea to postpone the trial, the jury selection process officially commenced as planned on May 5th.

When potential jurors show up for their service, they’ll fill out a questionnaire to gather information about their knowledge regarding the upcoming trial and Combs. In the end, a panel of 12 main jurors and 6 alternates will be chosen for the case, which is slated to start on May 12.

Combs’ legal team asked for a postponement in mid-April, claiming they needed more time to examine certain evidence provided by prosecutors for the trial. However, Judge Subramanian rejected this request, stating that it was too near the start of the trial and expressing confusion as to why there wasn’t enough time to prepare, according to Reuters.

Four months after federal agents swooped down on two of my abodes in September, I found myself in handcuffs, accused of racketeering, coercive sex trafficking, and arranging prostitution. Six months later, in April, a supplementary indictment piled on an extra charge of sex trafficking and another for prostitution. As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but follow every twist and turn in this rollercoaster ride.

In a New York court, an individual named Combs, who’s been detained at the Metropolitan Defense Center since his arrest and subsequent denial of bail, has pleaded not guilty to all accusations against him. Through his attorney, Marc Agnifilio, he has openly declared his innocence in public.

According to the lawyer’s declaration to TopMob News in March 2024, no criminal or civil charges have been proven related to these allegations. Mr. Combs maintains his innocence and will persistently work towards establishing his clean record daily.

Prior to the latest accusations made against Combs, prosecutors submitted a revised indictment with additional charges, to which he pleaded not guilty. This new indictment alleges that he compelled his employees to work under conditions akin to forced labor.

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d rephrase it like this: In the March filing obtained by NBC News, I would argue that Combs exerted control over his employees by making them work excessive hours with minimal rest, using various methods such as physical coercion, emotional distress, financial exploitation, and damage to their professional reputation, or threats thereof.

As Tony Buzzbee, an attorney representing several accusers against Combs, stated on Instagram in October, “We will allow the allegations in the filed complaints to speak for themselves, and strive to ensure that justice is served.

However, his legal team continue to maintain his innocence amidst the numerous lawsuits. 

Combs’ legal representative, Erica Wolff, explained to TopMob News last October that it’s impossible for him to respond to every unwarranted accusation in what has turned into an irresponsible media spectacle. However, Mr. Combs firmly and unequivocally denies any allegations of sexual misconduct, especially those involving minors. He is prepared to prove his innocence and clear his name in court if necessary, once charges are officially filed and served. The truth will be determined by evidence, not conjecture.

On March 25th, Federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) carried out searches at the Los Angeles and Miami residences of Sean “Diddy” Combs. This information was corroborated by several law enforcement sources to NBC News. The warrants originated from the Southern District of New York, and an HSI New York spokesperson confirmed to TopMob News that they were executing actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners. At the time of the searches, it was reported that Combs was in the Miami region.

Reports emerged concerning an investigation following accusations of sexual misconduct against Combs, which were made by several individuals in lawsuits filed since November. However, he has consistently denied these allegations. In a statement posted on Instagram in December, he expressed his stance, stating: “I am appalled by the false and malicious claims being levied against me by people seeking a quick payday. I want to make it clear: I have not engaged in any of the despicable acts that are being alleged. I will vigorously defend my reputation, my family, and the truth.

The day following the execution of search warrants at Sean Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami, his attorney Aaron Dyer issued a statement. According to Dyer, there was an excessive display of military-style force during the searches, which he found unjustified. He also criticized the authorities for their aggressive behavior towards Combs’ children and staff.

Dyer clarified that Combs was not detained but willingly spoke with and cooperated with the authorities. He further stated that neither Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested or had their travel restricted in any way, contradicting media speculations.

His statement also dismissed rumors as an unwarranted ambush, paired with a coordinated media presence, leading to premature judgment against Combs. He described the situation as a witch hunt based on baseless accusations made in civil lawsuits.

In response, Dyer conveyed that Combs intended to vigorously defend himself against all accusations. Furthermore, he stated that there has been no finding of either criminal or civil liability in relation to these allegations. He emphasized that Combs is innocent and will tirelessly work each day to prove his innocence and clear his name.

During the searches, it was reported by multiple law enforcement sources who are knowledgeable about the warrant, that devices like phones were taken from Sean Combs’ residence in Miami prior to his planned trip to the Bahamas. Furthermore, several individuals privy to the situation mentioned that firearms were found during the search.

A person with knowledge of the situation has informed NBC News that four individuals – two women and two men – were questioned by officials from the Southern District of New York regarding claims involving sex trafficking, sexual assault, the selling and use of illicit drugs, and weapons, all allegedly linked to Combs.

On the same day that search warrants were carried out at Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles, one of his associates named Brendan Paul was apprehended by the Miami-Dade police on drug possession charges. According to a source close to law enforcement who spoke with NBC News, this arrest took place due to suspicion of illegal possession of cocaine and marijuana candy. The affidavit for Paul’s arrest in Miami-Dade was obtained by the outlet, which confirmed that he was held in custody. Prison records show that Paul was released on March 26 after posting bond. In a statement provided to NBC News, Paul’s attorney Brian Bieber stated, “We do not intend to try this case in the media; all matters will be handled in court.” Later in May, Paul agreed to a plea deal, as confirmed by his lawyer Bieber to People magazine: “Brendan accepted the prosecutor’s offer to allow him entry into the diversion program. Upon completion of this program, the entire case against him will be dropped.

On September 16, 2024, as reported by NBC News, he was taken into custody in the lobby of a New York hotel. The specific charges against him are yet unknown, and it remains undetermined whether his arrest is linked to the recent raids.

In a statement to TopMob News, lawyer Marc Agnifilo expressed their dismay over the U.S. Attorney’s Office choosing to pursue what they consider an unfair prosecution of Mr. Combs. They stated that while Mr. Combs is not perfect, he is not a criminal. To his advantage, Mr. Combs has been fully cooperative with this investigation and willingly moved to New York last week in preparation for these charges.

The lawyer added, “Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

After Combs was detained due to a previously sealed indictment on September 17th, the indictment became public.

The 54-year-old is accused of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking through force, fraud or coercion, and transportation for prostitution, as stated in court documents obtained by NBC News.

According to these documents, Combs allegedly mistreated, threatened, and coerced individuals around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and hide his actions for over a decade. The prosecutors claim this behavior began approximately in 2008.

The indictment asserts that Combs utilized the employees, resources, and influence of the extensive business empire he led and governed to create a criminal organization. This enterprise involved members and associates who are accused of committing various crimes, including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.

1. Sexual assault or rape involving violence.
2. Encouraging sexual activity under the influence of controlled substances.
3. Sharing sexually explicit recordings.
4. Abusing minors sexually.

Later on, the attorney representing Erica Wolff made a statement to address the accusations, stressing that Sean Combs continues to assert his innocence in this matter.

She stated, “He isn’t able to counter every groundless accusation in this senseless media spectacle. However, let it be clear, Mr. Combs firmly and unequivocally denies any claims suggesting he has sexually assaulted anyone, specifically minors, as these allegations are false and defamatory.

 

During a press conference on October 1st, as reported by NBC News, Tony Buzbee, the attorney in question, stated that one of the 120 individuals who accused Combs of assault claimed to have been just 9 years old at the time the alleged incident occurred.

According to the attorney, “25 of the accusers were minors at the time of the alleged incidents.”

In an updated lawsuit filed back in October 2024, defendant Ashley Parkham alleged that Odell Beckham Jr., Druski, and Combs were involved in the gang rape of her in 2018, which took place around March 2025.

Both men denied the claims.
