Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial has officially begun.

The May 12 court hearing signified the start of a trial for the rapper, involving charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. P Diddy’s sons, Christian “King” Combs, Justin Combs, and Quincy Brown, along with his daughters, Chance Combs, Jessie Combs, and D’Lila Combs, were present at the Federal District Courthouse in lower Manhattan to offer their support.

In her opening remarks, prosecutor Emily Johnson brought up the relationship between Combs and his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, mentioning an incident where it was claimed that the tycoon was pursuing the singer after he discovered she had started seeing someone else.

In his words, as reported by NBC News, he stated that when he eventually located her, he subjected her to a violent assault, repeatedly kicking her from behind and tossing her about carelessly, much like one would handle a discarded doll.

As Johnson told the court, Combs had to “make sure he had control over Cassie once again.”

According to Johnson, he warned her that if she disobeys him once more, he would expose intimate videos of her engaging in sexual activities with male escorts, effectively revealing some of her most embarrassing moments.

TopMob News attempted to get a response from Ventura’s team regarding the courtroom accusations, but have yet to receive any comments.

During the process of choosing jurors, which started on May 5 in New York, potential jurors were presented with a list containing over 100 names of people and locations that might come up during the trial, presided over by judge Arun Subramanian. Among these names were Michael B. Jordan, Mike Meyers, and Kanye West – individuals not involved in the case, but whose impartiality was being tested, as reported by NBC News.

They too provided the names of women who’ve filed lawsuits against Combs, such as Cassie, a member of Danity Kane, and Dawn Richard, a former alumna of Danity Kane, who have both claimed that the rapper has been involved in instances of sexual abuse – these accusations were made separately.

His family, which includes his mother Janice Combs and his seven children, have been providing him support during his time in prison.

Janice was present at the court appearance on March 14th, along with Chance (18 years old, shared with former partner Sarah Chapman), and Christian (27 years old, his eldest child with late ex-partner Kim Porter).

According to a report from NBC News, the March filing claims that Combs exercised authority over his staff, compelling them to work extended hours with minimal rest. This control was allegedly enforced through various means such as physical abuse, psychological distress, financial hardship, damage to their reputation, and threats of similar mistreatment.

The father of seven is being aided by his family during his incarceration, with his mother Janice Combs and his kids among the supporters.

Janice accompanied Chance, who is 18 and a child she shares with Sarah Chapman, as well as Christian, her eldest son with Kim Porter (who has passed away), to the court hearing that took place on March 14th.

In a document submitted in March (obtained by NBC News), it was claimed that Combs exercised power over his employees, compelling them to work excessive hours with minimal rest, through various means such as physical coercion, psychological manipulation, financial exploitation, damage to their reputation, and/or threats of such actions.

In response, Combs’ lawyers stated that their client firmly rejects the charges outlined in the indictment. Furthermore, they mentioned that some of the music mogul’s former workers remain supportive, ready to testify about the commitment, effort, and inspiration they felt while aiding in the creation of groundbreaking, award-winning ventures.

According to Johnson, Combs attacked her viciously, kicking her in the back and tossing her around recklessly after discovering her.
