Die Hard soundtrack: All the songs in the classic Christmas action film

As a lifelong movie enthusiast who’s seen more action flicks than I can count, I’ve got to say that Die Hard is one of those timeless classics that never fails to impress. Every Christmas Eve, I find myself drawn back to this iconic masterpiece starring the indomitable Bruce Willis as John McClane, the everyman hero taking on a band of terrorists in a high-stakes battle set against the festive backdrop of New York City.

There’s ongoing discussion about whether Die Hard qualifies as a Christmas movie, but there’s no denying it’s an exciting, legendary action flick that deserves another watch every December, regardless of how it’s classified.

In the 1988 film, Bruce Willis portrays John McClane, a tenacious police officer, who finds himself in a high-rise building overtaken by a band of German terrorists, with Hans Gruber, played by Alan Rickman, as their mastermind.

Despite being launched during the summertime, Die Hard has often been labeled as a holiday film due to its Christmas Eve setting and the inclusion of several seasonal tunes in its soundtrack. Notable tracks include Run-DMC’s “Christmas in Hollis” and a rendition of “Winter Wonderland” by Bing Crosby, among others that add to the festive atmosphere.

Additionally, the movie features a few well-known classical tunes and an original soundtrack penned by the acclaimed film composer, Michael Kamen.
