The Bachelor’s Dina Lupancu knew what she was doing when she switched up her hometown date.
In the “Women Tell All” episode on March 10th, the 32-year-old disclosed that it was not her family who refused to meet her love interest, Grant Ellis, during her visit back home to Illinois. Instead, she herself decided not to introduce Grant to her parents.
After the events in Madrid, Dina shared with TopMob News in an exclusive chat, “I talked to my family and they were thrilled, everyone was ready. We were all excited about it.
To be completely honest, I couldn’t help but beg my father fervently when his heart was set against it, hoping to persuade him to change his mother’s decision and step into the limelight onscreen.
She reminisced, “I suggested, ‘Maybe I could chat with Mom and see if she’d join us,'” and her mom responded, “I’m not at ease appearing on camera. I’ll compose a letter for Dad to read aloud to [Grant], and then we might try video calling or similar.
However, since her mother was hesitant, Dina eventually decided to abandon the initial plan and arrange for Grant, who is 31 years old, to meet her circle of friends instead. This decision caused a rift within her family.
She stated, “The part that was on my side commented, ‘We’re furious! We wanted to meet him!'” The other half said, “It’s a relief. You should have returned home, as the pace of events was too swift. You’re not prepared to get engaged to a man who is dating 25 women. You don’t know him well enough for that.” Thus, their opinions were quite divided on the matter.
At the “Women Tell All” event, Dina found herself in conflict with Carolina Quixano, much like several other women, regarding Carolina’s actions during the season and their subsequent online disagreements. However, despite revisiting their issues at the recording, they were unable to find a resolution in their argument.
“I feel like I said my piece,” Dina proclaimed, “but did I feel like that was reciprocated? No.”
Dina also accused the 29-year-old of rebuffing her efforts to patch things up between takes.
During some pauses, I glanced at Carolina, asking, “Hey, everything alright with you?” She seemed irritated, not responding or speaking to me.
The reality star added, “That part I wanted to get closure on and I don’t feel like we did.”
So with The Bachelor behind her, would Dina consider looking for love in paradise?
She enthusiastically spoke about her amazing time on “The Bachelor”. Regarding “Bachelor in Paradise”, she didn’t flatly reject the idea, nor did she confirm it. Instead, she’s keeping her possibilities open and will see where things lead.
The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
