Why Isn’t The Blade Liger More Recognized?

Even though dedicated mecha enthusiasts would recognize the Blade Liger and new Zoid animations continue to emerge, the legendary Blade Liger from Chaotic Century has slipped into relative obscurity due to its scarcity in legal streaming platforms. The original anime series was created by Xebec Studios, which ceased operations in 2019 following financial difficulties. Since then, the show has been stuck in a legal limbo, preventing it from being streamed legally in Western countries. Japanese Blu-ray versions of the series were released as early as 2013, but there have been no official re-releases featuring the classic English dub from the early 2000s.

At this point, “Zoids: Chaotic Century” turns 20, which means two full generations of anime enthusiasts have grown up since the series concluded. Over time, certain mecha designs may have lost their appeal, but that’s just how the anime market evolves.
