Throughout the summer in the UK, we’re blessed with a multitude of music festivals, ranging from large-scale events attracting over 100,000 visitors, such as Download, to more intimate local festivals nearby, like Bristol Sounds.
The challenge lies in selecting which festival to attend, as there are numerous options catering to a variety of musical tastes such as pop, rock, EDM, R&B, folk, and even musical theatre. If you’re focused on the performers, this year features artists ranging from Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Drake, and ELO. Additionally, there are other activities to consider like camping, water sports, cooking workshops, and comedy shows that might be part of the festival experience.

Due to the fact that tickets have already been snapped up (which is why it’s called the largest festival out there – Glastonbury), we didn’t feature it in our list. However, fear not! The events we suggest instead are just as worthwhile and usually more budget-friendly, so take a peek!

What festivals are on in the UK in 2025?
BST Hyde Park
- 27th June — 13th July
American Express presents a series of concerts in Hyde Park during British Summer Time, spanning over three weeks. Each event showcases a distinct headliner for an excitingly diverse lineup. In 2022, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and ELO are some of the artists scheduled to perform, with various opening acts creating a complete day filled with entertainment.

- 13th — 15th June
The Download Festival, known as the top rock and metal event in the United Kingdom, occurs at Derby’s Donington Park. In 2021, acts such as Green Day, McFly, and the Sex Pistols are set to perform on stage.
Parklife
- 14th — 15th June
This year, Manchester will host its grandest metropolitan festival, one of its most significant events, attracting approximately 80,000 people daily to witness an impressive lineup of top-tier artists. Among the stars gracing the stage this time are 50 Cent, Charli XCX, and Peggy Gou.
Isle of Wight
- 19th — 22nd June
As a movie-goer standing in the heart of Seaclose Park, I can’t help but feel the pulsating energy of the Isle of Wight Festival – a vibrant event that traces its roots back to the ’60s, embodying the Woodstock spirit while simultaneously showcasing the freshest talents on the rise. This musical melting pot caters to every generation, making it an ideal destination for families with the kid-friendly Kidzone.
This summer promises a stellar lineup, as Sting, Justin Timberlake, and Stereophonics prepare to set sail towards this musical haven. It’s going to be one unforgettable show!
Bristol Sounds

As a movie buff who’s always on the lookout for the next big thing in entertainment, let me tell you that Bristolians should not pass up the opportunity to immerse themselves in this five-day musical extravaganza gracing the Bristol Harbourside. This year promises an exciting lineup with Supergrass, Kaiser Chiefs, and Texas taking center stage. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience!
Latitude
- 24th — 27th July
The Henham Park in Suffolk hosts the celebrated Latitude Festival, a blend of music and arts. The festival’s highlight is its tranquil lake where visitors can swim, paddle board, or participate in yoga sessions close by. Tents dedicated to poetry, theater, literature, and dance are also part of the scene. This year, Snow Patrol, Sting, and Greg Davies will headline the event.
Wireless
- 11th — 13th July
Typically, Wireless is an annual urban music festival that honors hip hop, rap, Afrobeats, and grime artists globally. However, this year it’s more like a three-day Drake marathon. The rap sensation will be the main act each night at London’s Finsbury Park, sharing the stage with special guests Burna Boy and PartyNextDoor.
TRNSMT
- 11th — 13th July
Up in Glasgow lies the premier destination for pop, rock, hip hop, and indie music performances at the TRNSMT festival. Since its debut in 2017, it has rapidly grown into a significant Scottish event, with artists like The Script, Gracie Abrams, and Biffy Clyro gracing the stage this year. Additionally, it offers various stages, food vendors, and bars for an all-around enjoyable experience.
Lytham
- 2nd — 6th July
Over the past few years, I’ve witnessed a phenomenal expansion of Lytham Festival, transforming from a single day concert into a five-day extravaganza nestled along Lancashire’s Ribble Estuary. This year’s roster boasts an impressive diversity spanning genres and decades, with the likes of Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, and Alanis Morissette gracing the stage.
Rewind
- 15th — 17th August
This year, the town of Henley-on-Thames is set to welcome back Rewind South, with an array of classic acts on stage. Among them are Soft Cell, ABC, Go West, and Boyzlife.
Boardmasters
- 6th — 10th August
This year’s top beach festival in Cornwall will showcase performances by The Prodigy, Raye, Central Cee, and The Wombats, along with a variety of additional activities such as surfing, swimming, and silent disco parties.
Creamfields
- 21st — 24th August
At Cheshire each August Bank Holiday, music enthusiasts of electronic dance gather for the top-tier event known as Creamfields. There, they enjoy sets by renowned artists such as David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, and ANYMA.
Camp Bestival
- 31st July — 3rd August
Camp Bestival is often referred to as a “festival-vacation” due to its dedication to merge music with a comprehensive family-friendly experience. This year, the event will only take place at one location in Dorset, and the lineup includes acts like Sugababes, Tom Jones, and even children’s favorites such as Mr Tumble.
Wilderness
- 31st July — 3rd August
As a movie buff might put it, Wilderness is a four-day extravaganza that invites you to unleash your inner wild child in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. It offers an array of activities, such as paddleboard yoga or foraging workshops, immersing you in nature’s wonders, all while providing music acts like Basement Jaxx, Supergrass, and Wet Leg on the side.
Gone Wild
- 7th — 10th August
Presented by renowned explorer Bear Grylls, “Gone Wild in Norfolk” offers a thrilling blend of music and the exhilarating wilderness. Participants can engage in activities ranging from paintball games and quad biking to dynamic science demonstrations, along with live performances by Clean Bandit and Blue.
All Points East
- 16th/22nd — 24th August
Every year, the All Points East festival takes place spanning two consecutive weekends at Victoria Park, featuring big-name acts such as Chase & Status and Barry Can’t Swim for this season.
Reading & Leeds
- 22nd — 24th August
Each year, the Reading and Leeds Festivals happen concurrently in Bramham Park and Richfield Avenue. These twin events boast a fantastic array of music, ranging from rock to grime. This year, Chappell Roan, The Kooks, and Limp Bizkit are set to headline.

Without a doubt, Glastonbury stands out as the largest music festival in the UK, not only in terms of popularity but also in physical dimensions. Each year, it attracts approximately 200,000 attendees, with Download Festival coming in second place, hosting an average crowd of about 110,000 people.
Among the notable events that contribute significantly to the UK’s largest festival scene are those I follow such as Reading and Leeds, Isle of Wight, and Creamfields. These events, each with a capacity ranging from 60,000 to a staggering 105,000 attendees, hold a special place in the UK’s festival culture.
