Following the underwhelming reception of Snow White in cinemas, there was a significant amount of anticipation surrounding Disney’s live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch. Needless to say, it has already demonstrated its merit.
During its initial three days in theaters, the movie earned an astonishing $341 million (approximately £252 million), shattering the previous record for film debuts over Memorial Day weekend and positioning it as a strong contender to be one of the top box office successes of the year.
The movie generally tells a similar tale to the 2002 animated film centered around a solitary Hawaiian girl and an unexpected friendship she develops with an illegal alien creature she takes in as her pet. However, there are a few modifications introduced in this updated adaptation.
Similarly to the original, it boasts a collection of Elvis Presley’s timeless hits like “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” and “(You’re the) Devil in Disguise” in its soundtrack.
