Discover WWE 2K25’s Mind-Blowing New The Island Mode with Paul Heyman!

WWE 2K25 unveiled a fresh gameplay video showcasing its exclusive new mode called ‘The Island’, which is accessible only on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions. Following the trailer launch, details about how The Island mode operates and what gamers can anticipate within this mode were provided by 2K in an extensive gameplay breakdown on their official website.

Here is everything you need to about WWE 2K25’s The Island mode.

2K’s press kit and gameplay trailer, narrated by the renowned ECW and WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman, indicate that WWE 2K25’s The Island mode is essentially an online amusement park, capable of accommodating up to 50 players simultaneously. This virtual playground offers attractions inspired by the WWE, where participants can engage in wrestling contests against one another and complete tasks to win favor from The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.

Explore The Island’s districts

On The Island, you start off by designing a unique MySUPERSTAR character of your own. You have the freedom to personalize every aspect of your MySUPERSTAR, including their body type, stats, gender, backstory, fighting style, and many other details.

After creating your character, known as your MySUPERSTAR, you’ll embark on an adventure to traverse The Island, which boasts four WWE-themed zones brimming with activities and quests to engage in. The ultimate goal is to win over Roman Reigns by successfully completing these tasks. The areas you’ll encounter are:

  • Hero HQ: A superhero-themed district that pays homage to the greatest heroes in WWE history. However, it’s constantly under attack by WWE villains who seek to gain a special within the Hero HQ so they can take over The Island.
  • The Arcade of Tomorrow: A cyberpunk-esque district that celebrates technology and pop culture, where people can chill out to play arcade games or eat food.
  • The Temple of the Ancestors: An ancient district that pays tributes to Lucha libre culture and the iconic Lucha wrestlers that helped shape it into what it is today.
  • The Deadlands: a supernatural district filled with haunting chapels, graveyards, and dark specters that go bump in the night.

Compete in matches and quests to upgrade your character’s looks and skills

While exploring various districts, engaging in online competitions with other gamers, and finishing missions, you can unveil a variety of stylish costumes to personalize your MySUPERSTAR’s appearance and enhance their skills.

  • XP & VC: Winning wrestling matches and completing quests will yield XP and VC. XP is used to increase your MySUPERSTAR’s level, while VC is used to buy upgrades.
  • Badges: Badges are special items you can through The Island that will provide your MySUPERSTAR with boosts to their stats and abilities.
  • Rank System: Competing and winning PvP matches will earn you Rank Points that will boost your online rankings, starting from Bronze and working up to Silver, Gold, Platinum, and finally Diamond. However, if you lose a match, you will lose Rank Points and be moved down the rankings.

You can buy a range of cosmetic items for your character at different stores scattered across The Island. These stores carry popular brands such as:

[Brand names]

  • Chalk Line
  • DSYF
  • Free & Easy
  • iSlide
  • Jordan
  • MSCHF
  • Nike
  • Puma
  • StayCool NYC
  • Tuff Crowd
  • WWE Shop – A Fanatics Experience

It’s neat that when you purchase or gain access to a cosmetic item within The Island mode, you can then utilize it as a customization option across the entire game when creating your Superstar characters.

Embark on a long journey to earn a seat at The Bloodline’s table

To clarify, The Island mode in WWE 2K25 mainly revolves around demonstrating your abilities to the Tribal Leader, Roman Reigns, by accomplishing tasks. Keep in mind that these tasks won’t be a walk in the park since they require you to push your wrestling prowess to its utmost limits in tough single-player content.

On The Island, you’ll encounter quests distributed by WWE Superstars. These quests form a thrilling, continuous single-player narrative spanning across five playable episodes. Advancing through these episodes will unveil the history of The Island and the hurdles you must conquer to earn Roman Reigns’ recognition.

Keep in mind that at launch, only Chapter 1 from The Island’s single-player campaign in WWE 2K25 will be playable. The remaining four chapters will be made available as free post-launch updates later on.

I can’t wait to explore the The Island and become the ultimate WWE Superstar

Despite the disappointment that this mode will only be playable on upcoming next-generation systems, The Island stands out as one of the most expansive and daring developments 2K has ever undertaken within the WWE 2K series. Notably, there’s a plethora of additional gameplay elements in WWE 2K25, such as a roster of over 300 playable WWE Superstars, intergender matches, new match types, and many more exciting features.

Given its impressive array of gaming aspects, I find myself eagerly anticipating my return to wrestling video games, as this forthcoming Xbox/PC game could easily contend for one of the top Xbox/PC titles of 2025.

The upcoming WWE 2K25, an exciting new chapter in the WWE 2K series, is scheduled to debut on March 14, 2025. It will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. If you pre-order either the Deadman or The Bloodline Editions, you’ll gain early access to the game starting March 7, 2025.
