Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Unlock the New Floating Islands

As a seasoned Disney Dreamlight Valley gamer with over two years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a wave of excitement washing over me as the Sew Delightful update is about to drop! Two whole years since the game launched, and we’re still getting new content, characters, and biomes – it’s simply magical!

The exciting update for Disney Dreamlight Valley, named Sew Delightful, is nearly here and will be accessible this week. This update introduces new floating islands to the game, which were initially teased during the October Disney Dreamlight Valley showcase stream. Since then, developers have shared more details about these floating areas, including how they function and the activities players can engage in. To access these levitating regions, you must first finish “What’s Left Behind,” the main story quest associated with Fairy Godmother. Given that this quest has been available for some time, most dedicated players should find it straightforward to start exploring the floating islands from day one.

Upon finishing the current quest, players will uncover another mission linked to Merlin titled “Islands in the Sky.” In this adventure, Merlin discloses his research on linking the Wishing Wells within the Valley with those on floating islands. This new feature allows for quick travel to the floating islands via the Wells or the game’s interface. The initial island available will mirror the Plaza design, and players can unlock the three additional islands – Forest Island, Frosted Island, and Sunlit Island – using Dreamlight. Each of these islands costs 15,000 Dreamlight for unlocking. Hints suggest that more floating islands could be added in upcoming updates as well.

This week signifies the two-year anniversary of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s early access release. Over these past years, the game has accumulated countless characters and decorative elements. The upcoming floating islands are designed to complement existing biomes, offering players more areas to interact with characters and customize to their liking. Developers indicate that each island will provide approximately 130×130 square feet of decorating space. This substantial area offers players a great platform to express their creativity, making it an ideal choice for those who have been running low on space.

On December 4th, we’re excited to introduce the Sew Delightful update – the latest in the series of free updates for Disney Dreamlight Valley. This update takes its name from Sally, a character from The Nightmare Before Christmas, who will be joining our game this week. Players will join forces with Jack Skellington to facilitate Sally’s arrival in the Valley. Once you’ve helped her settle in, Sally will have unique quests for you and even new rewards to unlock! Additionally, a brand-new Star Path is coming, brimming with winter-themed prizes. While we’ve shared some of these Star Path rewards, there are more surprises in store. Keep an eye out for what else the developers have up their sleeves!
