Disney Dreamlight Valley Players Consider Skipping New Star Path: "It's a Pass"

As a dedicated player of Disney Dreamlight Valley who has eagerly anticipated the annual Halloween-themed Star Path, I must admit, I was initially taken aback by the unveiling of The Night Show Star Path. While I can appreciate the rock-themed music and darker elements that somewhat align with autumnal aesthetics, it seems a bit off-kilter from the traditional spooky vibes we’ve grown accustomed to during this season.

Players of Disney Dreamlight Valley have been speculating about the upcoming Star Path in the game, and based on early leaks, they were not pleased with its potential direction. Instead of receiving Halloween-themed items such as furniture, costumes, and other rewards from the October Star Path, it seemed that it would deviate significantly from this theme. The previously unconfirmed Star Path has now been officially disclosed as “The Night Show Star Path,” and as anticipated, some players are considering boycotting it unless it offers appealing Halloween prizes.

In a recent developer update video from Gameloft, the complete layout of the new Star Path, titled The Night Show, was unveiled. This rock-themed path may remind players of Halloween due to its music, dark attire, and some fiery elements, but it’s not an official Halloween theme. As of now, there are no pumpkins, trick-or-treat bags, costumes related to Halloween, or similar items visible in the preview, which has left some players disappointed.

One player in the Disney Dreamlight Valley subreddit expressed their dissatisfaction, stating, “It seems out of place for this time of year. I’m not particularly wowed by what’s been presented so far,” when asked about the new Star Path. For now, they plan to abstain from participating.

It’s been noted that not everyone observes Halloween, and in various parts of the globe, their equivalent festivities occur in distinct months. However, it’s important to consider that the last few years have seen Halloween-themed events like Star Paths around this time of year. For instance, The Villains’ Star Path debuted mid-October in 2022 and offered seasonally appropriate cosmetics. Similarly, the Haunted Holiday Star Path followed suit in 2023. Given this pattern, it seems that Disney Dreamlight Valley may not have a special Halloween Star Path in 2024 unless Gameloft introduces one later on, which would make it quite late in the year.

Players of Disney Dreamlight Valley are currently finding issue with the timing of the new Star Path, rather than The Night Show itself. While they find the rock-themed music of Star Path to be acceptable, they suggest that it could have been introduced at any time. Some of its themes are darker and might align better with the fall/Halloween season if viewed from a slightly different perspective.

The good news is that even if you’re planning on skipping this month’s Star Path or are getting it but still feel cheated out of some Halloween gear, you’ll be able to make up for it during the Trick or Treat event that’s coming back to Disney Dreamlight Valley. That event will start on October 23rd and will run from then until Halloween itself, Gameloft confirmed this week.
